Boosted cars tend to ping on tip in..... hold the RPM's at a steady 3K-4K RPM for several seconds, boost and power builds up creating heat, mash the gas (tip-in) the car may initally ping. This is the pinging that happens as soon as you mash the gas, but goes away when the pedal is floored.
