Friend of mine is looking to buy a 90 5.0 LX... it says its got 150k on the car, but rebuild engine / tranny at 137k.. my question is how much more life can he reasonably expect from this car?? Is a rebuild nearly as good as a new one? Can he expect another 50k from it without too many problems??
Any specific problems he should look for while considering this car??
Thx for any info =]

Hard to say. Mine has about 225,000 miles on it. It eats a quart of oil every 500 miles or so, puffs a little smoke, but all the power is there.

as long as he takes care of it and pays attention to how the car drives he should be fine. but if he mashes on it all day then shit will break.
