They are fitting a 90mm MAF into my Densecharger and Byron Reynolds is going to tune it tomorrow. I am pretty stoked. I don't really expect to see any gains from the MAF, but I will already have it when I supercharge. I will post my dyno sheet when I get it back tomorrow.

Cool. So what are you hoping it'll make? 245RWHP?

Well, stock I had 231, so I hope a little more than that. Now I have x-pipe and catback and they are going to advance the spark a bit so I hope around 250. And I want 300 torque! We'll see. I am going over there this afternoon. I'll scan the dyno sheet in when I get home.

I made 250hp and 290tq at the wheels with just 70MM throttle body, chip, exuast, and underdrives so you should be close if not there.

What kind of chip do you have? Are you coming to our show on the 30th?

My car is done. Little bit of a dial-up warning.
Here is the Dynograph.
256 to the wheels, and 293 torque!!! Woohoo!!

Here is the MAF with my densecharger:

Hey just wondering - how much is it going to cost to have your stang dyno-tuned?

Posted by j0k3r (Member # 826) on :

Well, I also bought the MAF and the expensive-ass flange for it as well. Byron had to spend a couple of hours on it because of something funky with my processor so it was pretty expensive. Total with parts, labor, tune and all was ~$600.00

I have a superchip in the car and all the other mods listed (except vortech & mass air), and I will be at the cruise. I've been to all the other foster freeze cruises too. see ya then.

Jok3r, where did you get the 90mm lightning Maf? New or used, and how much? Thanks.

I got it new. Joe Testa from Mustang Ranch ordered it for me. It was all part of my tune price. I think they are around 200-250 or so.

Ctually,
I heard you can turn your stock maf in and add $100 for a L maf.

Hey jok3r, I see you need help on deciding what blower to run. The 2 you have to choose from is the exact 2 I was debating on. I was ready to order the Kenne Bell type when I saw an add for a Vortech for sale. The guy was hella cool, he told me to come over and we could go for a ride in his 89 GT W/12lbs of vortech boost. It was one of the fastest cars I ever been in. The other ironic thing is he had a Kenne Bell blower on his car before the Vortech. He could not get good power out of it, not even W/hours on the Dyno. He said it made too much under hood temp and that was a big part in the loss of power. He ended up giving the blower away. I hope that helps ya out W/your decision.

Jok3r, is the lightning Maf a bullit style or flanged? Plastic or metal? what color? Sorry for all the questions, I'm suffocating my blown combo with a 75mm MAF and need to get a bigger one. What does your mustang look like? I'm trying to find some neighborhood gear-heads,(had to install my supercharger by myself, doh!)My room-mate owns a motorcycle shop a few doors down from mustang ranch. Always some cool cars there. Apex always has some pimp shit too.

Thanks for the advice. The more I talk to people, the more I am leaning towards the Vortech. It seems pretty tried and true for the mod motors, so hopefully no worries

Here is a link to the picture of my MAF. It is plastic. http://wheel.spinway.com/scratch/t3d/90mmMAF.jpg I don't know why the dumb thing won't display. Try the link and lemme know if that works.
