Since the fools who tried to steal my car bent the reclining brackets on my drivers seat I need to buy some new ones. My question is will 94-02 seats fit in an 83 Mustang. I always thought they would but all the ads says 85-02. Any thoughts. Also, what if I got a nice aftermaket seat for my Cobra nad put those in the 83. Anybody know where I can buy some y2k Cobra R seats. Thanks in advance. Pete

The Cobra R seat was made ny recaro. They where only made for that car,and onlt made exactly 600. Go to recaro's web site and e-mail them to find out what you can get. I think the model you want is the sport. I know there is a recaro dealership in san jose.

I bought my Recaros from http://www.speedwaremotorsports.com They had the best prices, but be prepared for a long wait if they don't have what you want in stock. I waited about 4 months for my Recaros and still didn't get exactly what I wanted.According to the bracket application list I'm looking at, it has one set listed for 79-98 models and the other for 99-01.
Every once in a while you'll see Y2K Cobra R seats for sale. The ones who actually bought the R for racing (imagine that!) will take out those seats and put in REAL racing seats. Here's one on Ebay as we speak.
