does anyone know where i can find a battery charger that stays on all the time but only charges for a small amount of time per day (just enought to keep it alive). i don't drive my car much anymore, but hate having to jump it when i do....

Any autoparts store should carry it...U need something that "trickle-charges" or may you could try like a wal-mart or something like that..they also come in a lot of different styles..hope this helps.

Yeah, like POONSTANG said, most chargers have a "trickle" mode you can leave the charger on to lightly recharge the battery. Do you have a mis-wired custom stereo or something that is excessively draining your battery when the car isn't on?

i think if you leave any car long enough without starting it up the battery will die. i don't think i have an excessive drain (other than whatever it takes to keep the brain alive or the clock). a trickle charger won't due because that will constantly charge and fry the battery. i've heard about chargers that only come on when they sense that the current drops below a certain level. i need something like that.

Nah the new trickle charges will automaticly turn off when the battery is full and kick back on if it sense a drop...The good ones have a manual and automatic mode and can charge and 2 amps which is basicly just keeping the battery stable
