getting a new motor installed soon, gathering all the gaskets and seals, looking up for oil pump gaskets, i know theres one for the pickup tube to oil pump, but im getting different answers online about a gasket needed for the oil pump to block. some are saying yes and some are saying no. it would make sense to have one there cause of the pressure being built up, but i need to hear more solid answers.

DO NOT install the pump/pick up WITH OUT those gaskets, also do not run that pump with a STOCK oil pan.

HV pump on a stock fresh engine is useless it can pump all of the oil to the top of the motor and starve the bottom end

Yes. There is a gasket between the oil pump and block. There is also a gasket between the oil pump and the pick up tube.

Make sure you use an ARP oil pump drive shaft with that hv pump. I have seen stock ones break with a hv pump.

i've been running a hv pump with a stock pan for 8 years and have never lost oil pressure at high rpms.

did you have clearance issues with the M68hv and stock foxbody pan? ive heard that you will have to take a BFH to the pan or the pump will pierce it if its tightened down, but ive read about a hand full of people saying it cleared there stock fox pan.
