I have a 97 Ranger with a 3.0 V6. It seems to be leaking coolant from the thing in the picture below. What the hell is this anyway and why would it leak coolant from there?
Whatever it is, it's attached to the cooling lines going from the radiator to the heater. [ November 09, 2005, 10:49 AM: Message edited by: 92stangLX ]

thats the heater control valve, it is common to leak from there. It controls the flow of coolant into the heater core.

Is the hose leaking or the valve?
I bet its the hose... Tighten it or replace it.
Very simple

Looks like it is coming out of the valve itself. I will probably replace the hoses while I am at it.
