run my engine without the tranny ? I have to find the sorce of my vibration issue. I would like to eliminate everything behind the flywheel. Would it be possible to take off the pressure plate etc, reinstall the bellhousing and starter, then run the engine for about 5 seconds ? Of course I guess I would have to have the connections on the tranny hooked up, but would it run ?

Thanks, I'm going to guess I need a new flywheel. I talked to Napa and they said that when it was resurfaced, the wouldn't have checked if it was true unless I requested it.

well without the trans and cross member the engine would probably shake a lot. also you'll need to figure out how to start the car since the clutch needs to be pushed in or the trans in P or N

hmmmm, didn't think about that one. I guess I'll just pull the flywheel and take it a shop to see if it is true.

Often times this is the result of the balancer, might want to make sure it's tight or true.
Goodluck

Yeah, that's what I thought it may have been also. I replaced the balancer, and it was a bit messed up, but it didn't solve the problem.
As far as a pain in the ass, that's an understatement. I want to drive this f'n car so bad, but I want it to be right also. If I check the flywheel and reinstall everything ans STILL have the problem, I guess I'll have to break down and pay a professional.
