Is there a big difference between the 77 and 80mm MAF ? Which would you recommend? [Confused] I will be running 42lb SVO injectors on a spyder intake with ported AFR185'S on a 351w with N2o!

The difference is three millimeters. Pull out a ruler and see for yourself, then decide. (Not being a smart ass, just trying to make a point and put things into perspective).

How did you come up with that conclusion?

If you read my post above, looked to see how big three millimeters actually is.... and were stubborn so you clicked on the link above and saw that the difference between the two meters is 700 HP vs 800 HP.... you sitll decided to go with the more expensive 80mm? Did you think 700 HP won't cut it after a while and you'll have to spray a 100 shot on top of it ? [Big Grin]

Camara90,

Hurry up and get to the track so you can show Sawson what a custom cam is really all about! Not that you haven't already.

Jeff- Sorry, I don't have a Pro-M price sheet handy [Wink]

I also like to say that Mike's custom cam is 1000% the reason his car runs hard. Infact, I'm for removing everything under the hood.... heads, intake, block, pistons, rods, ect and just leave the custom cam there. The magical radiation from the custom cam will propell his car down the track resulting in low ET' Mike is acustom to. After all, custom cams have been proven day in and day out to provide drastic power increases. Power increases so vast, great and holy, they must be a work of god himself. Once again, I'd like to say how great custom cams are and what a critical part of a combo a custom cam is. Never forget, a car can NEVER be fast and is not built "right" unless the cam in it is custom. Custom cam is the best mod you can do to a 5.O or any car for that mater. Hell, It doesn't even need to have a motor to see HUGE gains from a custom cam. My wheelbarrow has a custom cam on order and so does my mountain bike. Custom cams rule!!!!!!!!!!

Sawson,

ROFLMAO... I really enjoyed your reply. I don't think that custom cams are the ultimate power adder, but for the extra $150 over an OTS cam and anywhere from $4 less to $46 more than a AFM cam, I don't see why you wouldn't recomend that people get one. [Confused]

I'm not going to hijack this post tonight so I'll make it short:

I've only seen one true before/after custom cam dyno with my own eyes. It was 93PONY and it gained him something like 3 rwhp. I don't give advice or recomend based on what I've read on the internet, but rather what I've seen work with my own eyes.

st5150, I just dont want to limit my power, and yes I am going to spray a 150 shot. I have a 77mm Pro-m caliibrated for 24 right now, but I need 42's. And I totally agree with all you, a custom cam is the sole of a fast car! [burnout] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

& here I thought you liked that cam. [Razz]
Only gained 1000 usable RPM.
Too bad I hate it! It's better off with heads that have decent exhaust flow. How about your car Sawson?!?

80 or 77 from Pro-M is the only way I'll go. Above 80 is overkill on my motor, thanks for all the help.

Mike, you got the 6 point from Wild Rides right? [Big Grin]
