I am getting my novi2000 thursday. I figure this will get me over 300 hp on my stock motor w/ bolt ons.

I know that heads cam intake can bring a stock gt up 80 hp or so. If I incooperated the blower do you guys think that the heads/cam/intake might get me even more gains? like maybe another 100hp?

I would probably be looking at gt40 heads, trick flow trackheat intake and i dont know for cam maybe e303 seems like thats what everyone gets.
Thanks

Scott

holley intakes work great with a blower.
for heads, I think around here you will get ripped a new one if you don't mention AFR. If you're into piston notching, get the AFR 185's, plus they will "grow" with you if you move to a bigger setup. That's a nice head for an all-motor street 351/347, for instance.

well with gt40n heads cam and a intercooler on stock boost that the blowers come with you should see 400-450 rwhp
I would invest on some 50# injectors and a inline fuel pump

I would like to stay streetable, I want more than 400 for sure. I dont want to spend toooo much money.

I dont know for the heads. I dont know if i wanna spend 400 for gt40's or 1000 for an aluminum head. Because I wont be seeing any heads for while if i have to save 1000 just for heads.

Intake 300-400, cam 100-150,

I will be running the stock boost that comes with the novi 2000 i think it is 8lbs, but I would love to go higher if the stock block permits me to.

If i should save up for 1000$ heads. should i save up for those first? or shoudl i buy my intake and then get the cam/heads.

Oh and i have 42lb injectors already and am getting a 255lph intake. and dyno tune/chip burn after its all in.

What do you mean by piston notching?> I would have to notch the afr 185's ? Also I think im gonna be staygin with the 302 motor.

I want to pretty much dont want to spend the money to get over 500 hp. 400-450 would be great for me. Do you think that the gt40's or the P's with a systemax II intake and some sort of blower cam would do this for me? Thanks

Scott

GT40's can do it, but honestly, you'd be better off with a higher flowing head/cam combo & letting the blower do less work. The holley is too big for box stock GT40's.

Idealy, you're going to want aluminum heads with large combustion chambers. A good mild cam (if you MUST smog)....& an E-bock intake.

With the AFR185's & a decent cam you'd have to notch the pistons so the valves won't kiss the pistons.

400RWHP can be made from 12psi, box stock GT40 Iron's (hell, fresh E7 heads could do it too), stock cam, 1.7's, & a ported Cobra intake.

AFR165/185's, custom cam, & a ported E-bock intake w/8-10psi will get you 450RW pretty easily.

All depends on how deep your wallet is.

Don't even consider the AFR 165's for a boosted car! Two main reasons... A) they have smaller chambers. You don't want extra compression on a boosted motor, especially with California gas. B) You can port your TFS to flow enough for low 9's / high 8's if need be. AFR's are already hogged out from the factory.

I've seen more than one stock botem end TFS headed car with your pick of an aftermarket intake and cam make 450 rwhp with 10-12 psi of S trim boost. Stick a performer RPM/TFS track heat/Holley intake on it and something decent like a TFS stage 2 cam and you'll see 475+ rwhp no problem with the proper fuel system.

Sorry Bro, the 165's aren't hogged out. Common mistake. The 185's are the same casting as the 165's. There's plenty of material for aftermarket removal. Hell, Ed C.'s got some 165 PS-2's that flow 300cfm at .500 lift...& volume is still smaller than the 185's.
Plenty of room to grow.

I believe you're right on chamber size though. Unless it's a special-order type deal from AFR.

I got a 306, 8:5:1, out of the box tfs wedge heads, comp blower cam, tfs street intake, s-trim w/10# and got 466 at the wheels. Just so you see what combos are working for other people.

AFR 165's are available at 58 cc or 64 cc (TFS right in the middle at 61). The TFS high port is 64 cc as well.

I'd go with the AFR 185's myself, just so that I wouldn't have to go buying another set of heads anytime soon, and they cost the same as the 165's.

Get notching on them there pistons!
