IMRC plates, lower intake, plenum cover, throttle body, throttle + cruise control cables are all required to switch to the 96-98 cobra intake.

i have the cruise control, throttle cable, and the cable bracket in case you do the swap and need them. I also have a 96-98 Cobra air intake elbow, vacuum tube, and Steeda air filter. with the help of Blind, i did this swap about 2 years ago. I switched back to a 2v motor and have all these parts left over from the Cobra stuff...just PM

my car has had imrc deletes (did them myself to the 96 cobra imrc plates I bought) and it has never had a problem with smog.

there's absolutely no difference in the heads intake ports on the earlier motors, the later motors got better valve springs and the lincolns used different imrc plates, but since you want to put cobra intake parts on, the lincoln specific differences of the intake do not matter since all the lincoln specific parts will be gone.

I fail to see how having an auto or a manual has anything to do with the cruise control cable, which runs from the drivers fender to the throttle body, the one for a GT is too short to be used with a 4v motor with a cobra intake on it...

If you're gonna put a 96-98 cobra intake on it, just take it to a BAR ref and have it certfied as a 96-98 Cobra engine. It will pass visual, and if everything works it should pass the actual smog check.
