The 94 computer isn't going to like the cam. You *may* need a tune to get it to idle when you want it to.
The year of the block doesn't matter, but the accessory drive and timing cover are different between 89 and 94 models, so if they are present you will need to swap over your 89 model items. 1994 headers and intake are different as well.
Make sure you have the correct flywheel and balancer for the 331 setup.

You will also need a new MAF that is calibrated for the 24lber's and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

The car should run after the swap. It will require some fine tuning (ie fuel pressure, idle, timing, etc) to dial it in.

If for some reason it doesn't run right after that you may want to consider getting a chip done.

If you get a chip you will need to get it tuned on a dyno. If for some reason your car won't run right after the install the tuner can burn you a "base" chip that has params for things like the cam, injectors, etc. However you will need to go to the dyno and have it dialed in.

Mail order chips are no good IMO.

Depends on which chip you get. Some chips are for self-tuners who like to dick around with their setup, others are for professionals only. You can decide which to get based on your own inclination.

You will probably care more about part throttle tuning with that setup than WOT, at least after a point. Part throttle tuning is more challenging that WOT tuning, and not too many tuners deal with it.

Either way, a chip may not be absolutely required for your setup, but you'll get a lot more out of your investment if you chip it.

Sct chip and get it tuned if the car is'nt running good after install. If it's running fine then You might want to get in on the next mustang tune day that pop's up which usually cost's around 70 buck's & will get You 3 pull's with air fuel check, or just spend about a hundred buck's for an hour of dyno time to check the air fuel ratio at a local dyno shop.
