Fifteen years ago, it was a very popular swap and there are plenty of header/oil pan kits out there to make the conversion easy. While there won't be many problems, just be prepared to pay a premium for parts and a lack of choices compared to a Windsor. Since the introduction of so many aftermarket Windsor heads, no one is really turning to the Cleveland anymore...except hard core Pantera owners

Avoid the Cleveland, I have it in my truck and its a PITA to find decently priced parts for, NAPA dosen't carry much for it, If I were you i would go with a 460 and those Blue Thunder heads [ January 23, 2007, 03:24 PM: Message edited by: Curt ]

i love clevelands. They are freaken awesome engines. THe only problem you have to get all your performance parts from australia. They love them over there. I have clevelands in 2 of my mustangs one a mach 1 and one a grande. And going to put another one in another mach 1 of mine. Thats how well they work for me. And there not everyday engines like the windsors. The more common parts like the ones that need to be replaced every once in awhile are not hard to find in the usa example water pump thermostate hoses stuff like that.
and despite what people think they are fast good engines. i have mine only at like 400hp without nitrious and it ran a 13.9 at 102 mph with a sliping tranmission shot torque converter and 5 year old wheels. The man at abc mustangs says if i fix the tranny or put a 4 spd and tires im capable of 12's mid to low no problem. Yeah if you have any questions like torque specs or anything i got plenty of books on them and orginal for engine manuels. Good luck

All my Torino's had Clevelands too! But, with the amount of $$$ I spent in parts to get 400hp out of the C, I could have made 500hp with a stroker W.

they make stoker clevelands as well. but its not cheap! i'd run a motorsport block with clevelands heads, but the manifolds are hard to find!

I would do a 351 Windsor swap for all the reasons stated above. It will be cheaper in the long run

There was guy with a Pantera at the Apex car show last summer. He custom did his own EFI intake using a 351W Trick Flow piece. It was very nice work.
