Just the trans? Or are you going for the clutch too? You may be able to get the trans out with the headers on , but to get the bellhousing off the headers need to be unbolted.

thanks aj. well i just baught this car with the syncros blown, its a 4cyl converted to a v8. and now im wondering if the tranny is a 4cyl tranny. it is a 5speed. is that possible 302 motor with a 4 cylnder tranny on there only thing that trpid me off was some kind of round metal wieght on the driveshaft where it connests to the tranny. So im thinking if it is a 4cyl tranny i might need to take the bell housing off as well [ January 23, 2007, 03:53 PM: Message edited by: Eddie306 ]

I got a fox w/ the BBK long tubes, and I've never had to remove the headers to get the bell housing off. You just have to play with the housing a little to get it out.

One I did with long tubes, I had to take out the four bolts and pull just the trans first. Then take out the bellhousing
