Ok, my top is in GREAT shape but the rear fabric is seperating from the window. I know I can just get a new rear piece with window, but it will not match, as the top is in great shape, but has been on the car for 13 years.
Question 1, is cloth worth the extra expense over vinyl? This will be a daily driver so I doubt it will be able to be garaged EVERY day of its life.
Question 2, anyone have a hookup on installation at a reputable shop?

Question 1 = no...
i just had a new one put on for the same reason...
and a 13 year old top is old....

Don, The cloth finish is worth the extra money for its looks. i don't know about the practicality of it though. it looks a lot better than the plastic, vynil or whatever material our stock tops are.
you might want to talk to drew. he had a cloth top.
You can replace just the rear window. just make sure that the zipper matches. there are several rear windows out there and not all match.

I have a similar problem for my 95. It just has a little bit of separation from the window to the top. I have had the top replaced on my 94 before and it cost about 700 installed. Is their some glue that I can get to adhere to glass and top?

I went to South City Auto Upolstery in SSF. I actually like the look of a new vinyl top. It looks nice and crisp. I was going to go with the cloth but I wanted to go with more of an OEM original look. I didn't really want that fancy luxury look on my stang. That and also my stang is black and I didn't want the top to be a deeper black than the paint. It definately looked nice on "shifty lx's" vert, but I think it was because of his paint scheme. He was the one who referred me to SSF auto upol. If I remember correctly it was $1000 w/ warranty. Talk to Boris. I have one drop with the vinyl and one with the cloth.
The vynil top is easier to clean
The cloth looks better and seems to be better as far as keeping sound in/out.
They both seem to handle the weather good. Tho it seems to get hotter inside on the cloth top drop (when it is hot outside).
Vinyl is a bit too shiny for my taste I like the matte finish to the cloth
Upholstery dude told me that cloth is stronger and heavier.
All in all I would say go with the cloth is you got the extra $$$ or go with the vinyl and spend the extra $$$ and get the liner. It will basically come down to looks. But cloth seems quieter which was a big one for me.
