1991 GT
Cobra Upper and lower intake 70mm TB BBK shorty Headers Bassani off-road X-pipe King Cobra Clutch 2 Chamber cat-back 355 Gears 75 shot nitrous
I want something that feels like a T-5 but is stronger and will last with the nitrous on there. what do you guys suggest??

I recomend a World Class T-5. A buddy of mine had one, worked like a champ and could handle all the power.

i say another t5 but if your taking it out might as well upgrade. if money is a prob. then i say a reguler old t5. its not that much hp/tq for a t5 for your setup that your running right now. with the setup that i did had it pulled like a champ

The shifter kind of clicks into place rather than just fluid slides into position. Its hard to describe, the t5s feel kind of sloppy when shifting, but the tremecs are precise, but take a little more force to get into gear. I like my tremec a lot better than my t5. I missed way more gears wwith my t5 than i have with a tremec.

you really feel it when you put it into gear on my tko, but its such a stronger tranny. after blowing out 2nd gear in two t5s, i don't worry about abusing this one. and i can handle the whine just fine

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if his 91 has the stock tranny it should be a world class. Maybe just get it rebuilt?

Now if you find a t5-z you will be going up a bit. Not a bad idea if you can find one cheap. plus the gear ratio is different. 1st is 2.95 instead of 3.35. and 5th is .62 instead .68. Just some more info. Good luck. [ May 19, 2005, 07:16 PM: Message edited by: h8louzn ]
