I really hate to even consider it, but circumstances are making it hard to justify keeping my Saleen. Among a multitude of other things in my life, gas prices, rising school costs, combined with ongoing unemployment, are killing my savings.

According to Saleen documentation, there were only 382 S281's made in 2004, 109 convertibles, and mine is 1 of 2 Sonic blue non-Supercharged convertibles.

I baby this car. It has had a total of around 10k miles put on it in the almost 4 years I've owned it. See's nothing but clear weather driving. Only 91 octane gas from Chevron or Shell. Only premium synthetic oil. Amsoil mostly with the most recent change switching it up to Royal Purple HPS. Detailed routinely with a variety of products ranging from Meguiars and Mothers, to PoorBoy's, Zymol, and Autoglym.

Just passed smog and registration is good til October 2013.

NADA puts Average Retail value at $24k and high retail at $32k+. I'd be looking to get around $18k OR BEST OFFER, or pay off + trade or some combination in between.

Most mods have around 5k miles on them
Tires have around 5k miles on them. Little wear. No burnouts/donuts, ever.
Oil & filter changed at 21.5k
New NGK TR55 plugs installed at 22.4k
NOS OEM Saleen catback installed less than 200 miles ago
OEM Ford catalytic H-Pipe has around 15k miles on it
Brand new Motorcraft battery installed less than 100 miles ago

As far as I know, everything else is factory and has indicated vehicle mileage.

I purchased the car in 2009 with 11k miles. At that time is was completely stock, down to the OEM Pirelli's and Saleen/K&N Air filter. In the time I have owned it, it was briefly equipped with a JLT Short Ram intake, but the OEM intake went back on shortly after. For the past few years it had a Bassani catted X-Pipe and Bassani catback. But the OEM Ford h-pipe and a New Saleen catback were put on last week. The factory equipped Pirelli's were replaced with Nitto Invo tires shortly after I bought the car. Nitto's were replaced with the current Michelin tires after I got a flat and it would have taken over a day to get a replacement Invo shipped in. So I bought a whole new set of whatever the best tire was they had in stock. One of the front wheels was having balancing issues, and replaced with a brand new OEM Saleen wheel.

Never taken to a track. Driven "spirited" on the streets on occasion. Rarely sees WOT, or anything over 4.5k - 5k rpm.

Thanks everyone. I absolutely love this car. Saleens have been one of my dream cars since high school. When the 1999 body style Saleens first came out, I knew I wanted one someday.

No. New spark plugs were put in less than 100 miles ago on the assumption it was a loose plug backing out. After inspection with a stethoscope, it's suspected to be one weak exhaust side lash adjuster in the drivers side head not fully pumping up at idle. I've been told it's not worth pulling the valve cover off unless it becomes a lot louder.

Wow you guys are harsh, if you're interested see the car in person and get someone to inspect it.
