If you have any 2.3 engine or tranny parts lounging in your garage, drop me a line! I'll drop by and make them go away. I teach a High School Auto class and we have developed a 2.3 addiction. Boost and N20 can fix a some of the displacement issues!

You can also use V8 transmissions so look for those too.
Rear ends too.
V8 front brakes are also an upgrade.

87-88 Turbo coupe trans=240 ft-lbs torque
5.0L trans =300 ft-lbs torque.
Not as strong.
And although the good TC was only made in 87-88 this tranny is also the exact same transmission that came in every single NA 2.3L grocery getting Mustang made from 87-93.

Putting this trans into a 5.0L would mathematically only be like putting a 3.23 rear end not 4.10's.
3.97 first gear vs a 3.35 for the 5.0L
And thats only in first gear.
In 5th its only a 3.17 effective rear.
.79 5th for the TC T5 vs .68 for the 5.0L T5.
