Bottom line, the car is worth what someone will buy it for. Your correct, KBB doesn't mean shit but the market will determine the value and I think he'll get close to the asking price if not the asking price with the mods it has. Good luck on the sale, if I had the cash I'd come look at it.

Exactly. Some people quote KBB like its gospel. Most of them have no idea how it works. KBB is highly inaccurate and always lower than true market value for older vehicles.

Why? Its mainly based on vehicle registration data. How many people do you know that pay $6K for a really clean Mustang and then turn around and tell the DMV they paid $2K (or less) when they register it to dodge some of the tax?

I've now sold 2 Mustangs to out-of-state buyers for what I wanted.

Never have I seen more "teachers" ready to lecture sellers about what they should be selling their cars for. GET REAL.

If you don't have a cafords price tag, be ready to be scolded LOL
