It could be. They did have bright tangerine as an available color in 96, & it was super rare. Its hard to tell from the pics though because it could also be Rio Red??

If it is indeed Bright tangerine, there were only 829 produced, so it is pretty rare... I have never actually seen it in person before, only on the net....
