My meager budget can no longer support my Mustang obsession. Im forced to sell my 1991 Mustang GT. A little about the car:

-APPROX 15k on rebuilt 306, runs very strong and is extremely reliable.
-all springs, shocks, struts and tires under 1 year old
-3:55 gears
-$4,000 paint give or take
-Carbon Fiber hood
-1993 Cobra wheels, black with polished lip and cap
-$1,500 stereo setup with JL "10 w6 and MB Quart components.
-pictures speak for themselves...

BUYER RESPONSIBLE FOR SMOG, REGISTRATION WAS UP AT END OF APRIL.

Im asking $6,500 and this is below what I paid about a year ago before seat and stereo, so low-ballers need not apply.
Would consider trades involving 04 or newer street-bike.

408-457-4280 ask for Sean

whats the engine combo?

Posted by electric91 (Member # 8303) on :

Not sure on exact combo as I didnt do the work. It has a decent sized cam and probably some head work done because it makes power past 5200. 1.7 rockers, bbk 1 5/8 equal length... blah blah blah. Motor runs strong, previous owner had work done and reciepts but didnt want to part with them because they had his credit card info on them.

Posted by venomous99 (Member # 1917) on :

For anyone who buys this car.... do not fall for this BS... Calif Law states the SELLER MUST SMOG THE VEHICLE before the sale.

thats not true...i own a dealership and what it is, is DEALERSHIPS have to smog the vehicle previous to sale. a regular person off the streets can say it doesnt come with a smog.... it might need cats or something small and he didnt wanna bother with it so hes selling as is, with the buyer aware that it needs the smog to be done.. this isnt a "scam". haha you must not have bought a hot mustang before...this shits normal

WOW you again.... I guess you didn't learn your lesson last time and your still talking out your ASS.

This is straight from the California DMV's website

"When a car is sold, who is responsible for the inspection?
The seller is required to provide the buyer with a valid smog inspection certification at the time of the sale or transfer. Smog certifications are good for 90 days from the date of issuance. "

Here is the link for you Mr. I own a car dealership web page

Well then I guess anybody who's ever bought a car that didn't run, or a car that was intended for track use only was doing something illegal. Call the cops dude!

But really, I understand what you are trying to say...it's just not very realistic, and makes you look kinda silly. Don't jump all over Tony for telling it how it is. The DMV says a lot of contradicting stuff, and California is a "Buyer Beware" state.

WTF are you talking about? The Seller is responsible for the smog end of story.

i believe a way around smog is to list it as a non-op and then it would be up the buyer to take it off non-op if he/she plans on driving it.

a buyer by law can take u to court if you sell a car not passing smog..most dont fuss about it but technically the seller is responsible.

Well, basically I just like to stir the sh!t.

cvc 24007(b)(2)

"Prior to or at the time of delivery for sale, the seller shall provide the purchaser a valid certificate of compliance or certificate of noncompliance, as appropriate, issued in accordance with Section 44015 of the Health and Safety Code."

A certificate of non-compliance...hmmm...so a car doesn't have to pass smog to be sold. Now who of us here at CaFords would rather buy a Mustang that FAILED smog, versus one that just didn't have a smog?

But, let's say the seller doesn't take the car to a smog check station at all, he just sells it as is. Hell, let's even say that the seller told you the car had passed smog. Let's say he hands you a fake smog certificate. You still have to suffer monetary damages before you can take a seller to court. That means that you have to pay for all repairs and smog check fees out of your pocket, then pay the small claims court fees, then hope you win a judgement, and even still the seller doesn't HAVE TO pay you. Section 24007 does not have any provisions for criminal charges, and if a seller comes to court with a bill of sale that says you bought the car as is, the judge will probably throw the case out.

So now that we are WAY off topic...ttt for a clean muther f%$^&in fox body!

Good luck with your sale!
