do you all understand that former chp units are worth less than civilian units? they are thrashed, over worked, battered buckets with extra holes drilled in the body, then sold at downtown ford for $6k with earl sheib paint jobs

who gives a fuck

Posted by Dave50 (Member # 5238) on :

You mean they are maintained for high pursuits, have an oil cooler for extra engine protection and never whipped any d-nuts and driven by adults. In the end the added rareness is what people want. Not the shortblock lol.

I have to agree with you, I never subscribed to the appeal of the CHP cars.

In fact when I was in the market for my coupe, I avoided the CHP cars unless they "revamped" (quality paint, filled holes, new interior, etc).

Police cars and rental cars are probably the most abused category of cars out there.

However, there is no debate that the CHP cars do have a loyal following.

do you understand your moms a thrashed, overweight, underworked, underwashed, malnurished, clapp having beotch. Sold at your local craigslist under casual encounters for 20 roses?

not every chp vehicle saw high speed pursuits. it just makes your car a little more rare than the average coupe.

My roomates retired CHP has just over 305,000 miles on it and he has never even had a valve cover off it. No bs. He got it with 145k. It still even has the original T-5.

^dave50, couldnt have said it better.
chps are rare which obviously increases value.
they havent been beat on 1/2 as bad as most 50's
they have the ssp which increases engine performance.

Lets see if you know what the "SSP package" upgrades include in engine parts, not including coolant hoses or oil coolers as those do not "increase engine performance.

"Engine performance" Does include an oil cooler. And besides what so cool about 93 cobras anyhow? We can all build faster cars for way less than they ask for them. Oh yeah they are "limited production" until you CHP haters can top the "limited production" factor of CHP cars I guess youre on the back burner LOL.

although i love to see kids on their coupes in the freeway. you have all seen them. pull up next to your car and rev and downshift. then i show them why their car is just a pursuit vehicle.

I got pulled over in my coupe, the cop was totally checking it out, telling me how he used to be in a 5.0 Mustang Police Interceptor before he got his BMW K-bike. Reminisced for a minute about how much fun they are. Then he asked me if my car was an SSP and I told him it was not. That's when he wrote me the ticket. [Mad]

Just for that the CHP cares are worth WAY more money than a regular coupe.

well now days every coupe is a highway.

For those who dont know, the guy who started this thread had a 11.4@124 MPH second daily driver fox when most of you where still in high school or before you had drivers licenses, ( aka 1998 ), and he is right. CHP coupes are, for the most part, beat down and over rated. There are a few exceptions to the rule, as always, but very few in this case.

This post was an accident in the first place, but I'm glad to see some posting around here so I'm going to leave it alone. [Big Grin] [Wink]
