This is classic. What makes them pure German anyways? How can you prove your claim without any paperwork?
This question is coming from someone who has owned Rotts for the last 10 years and am involved in the breeding and with breeders of these magnificent animals.

so mother and father have no papers? can the father be seen? $500 is a lot for zero documentation.

there's always smart asses on here. ha.
I didn't breed her just to make money off the puppies. I didn't really plan on breeding her at all until my mom, sister, and dad (all in different homes) wanted puppies from her. So when she went into heat I took her over to a friends house who has a german rott and bred her. Good for you for being involved in the breeding for the last ten years. it's a lot of work. They are beautiful animals, but you can start your own post if you want to keep boasting...

lol! There are always DUMB ASSES on here
I love how it's just word of mouth that proves the animals bloodline. So being that the father is German he MUST have been born in Germany and then imported here STRICTLY for breeding purposes right? If that was the case I would imagine that the father MUST have documentation proving his bloodline and be registered with the AKC right?
I am SURE that the hips and eyes have been checked as well as these are huge problem areas for these dogs.
You are the perfect example as to why breeders should be licensed.

lol get off his back. For anal buyers there are anal breeders like yourself. Not everybody wants a Papered dog I have had papered Rots. I now have one that is unpapered I just can not tell the difference. I also never looked or cared if they were American or German rots. They all sound the same to me lol. BTW rots are awsome dogs. I do not ever see me not having one.

YAH, get off his back ha.
I'm getting pics up of the father tonight I hope. His owner is getting them together. As for the price, that is what they are going for if you look in the paper or online AT ALL! 4-500 is easily the going rate. A friend of mine that had an imported German Rott paid $1500 with papers and all. IF it means that much to you, you can go that route. BUT, if you would like a nice looking rott for a hell of a lot cheaper than you can buy from people like me. Not like i'm doing it all the time to make hella cash so lay off, i'm not steelin your business. I get compliments on my dog all the time, they're great looking pups and they'll be awesome pets.

MUTTS!!?? ha, come look at em and say they're mutts. I'm waiting on the other owner and for pics of the father.
For those of you interested I'll answer your questions. but for people who just have little side comments to make they can keep em to yourselves. I tried getting my rott from a shelter and went to several in the sacto area but they are about impossible to get. I was on a few different lists for 3-4 months waiting to get one but was unable to get one til I went to someone in stockton that was breeding them.

I just paid $300 for a 1/2 English 1/2 American Golden Retriever w/ papers. $500 w/o papers is alot.
Cute though. I've always wanted a German Rott, with tails in tact. I hate that people have them cut.

People can say that's a lot, but that is what they're going for if you check sac bee or other classifieds. 4-500 is about the average I've seen, and I've seen as high as $700 for not papered. Papered, German rotts are going for $1000+. I have never heard of anyone having papered for a half and half of any kind of dog, kinda defeats the purpose I would think... could be wrong tho. And a half retriever is a lot different than a rott.
$500 for a good looking German or American rott is not much at all. They're great dogs and both parents have great temperaments.
Still have a few left if anyone is interested.

Ignore them not a single one would buy a damn dog from you papered or not. For example dude below paid $300 for a halfbreed mut. Anyone that buys pure bred dogs knows papers dont make the dog.
Posted by hopdup95 (Member # 2381) on
:
Exactly. If anyone wants me to I can find some pictures and make up papers. It's not hard to do but if it'll make someone more comfortable seeing papers to buy a great lookin dog than I'll do it for them ha.
Really tho, I just want them to go to good homes. The parents are both really good dogs and I know the pups are going to be as well. I'll consider offers on the males. The Females are all pretty much sold.
