Yes I am selling my 1990 CHP it needs a lot of work but the engine is stong and clean. The car has pony rims and yes it is a Real CHP with a clean title. asking price is $3000 but it is not firm we can work something out. Car has no interior at all just 2 sets.The body is 5/10. The engine and transmission is 8/10 it runs stong. no pics yet but will post at 1:00pm on Friday with my phone number. I have not put the car on craigslist but if I don't sell in a week I will.

he should call it a Mustang Coupe with a Special Service Package instead on continuing the ingorent(sp?) cycle of calling SSP equiped Mustang Coupes Highway/CHP/ex-CHP.....

All the person is buying is a beat up body with some stupid lil additional title of ex-chp and some simple lil add ons, other than that there isnt anything special about them. The engine is the same as every other H.O. 5.0L made....

yup, just have a lil 9 sec street car....there is a difference between a mustang and a mustang cobra(complete drivetrain/interior/exterior), the difference between a regular 5.0L Coupe and a 5.0L Ex-CHP is what...oil cooler/160 mph speedo/sub frame connectors/relocated trunk release button/3g alt/holes in the front passenger corner for the horn/all teh locks keyed to 1 master key/ and the fact that God knows how many CHP officers got to beat on it during their shift?

BIG difference....

just hate when people think that they have something special becauase it says prior police on the title...oh also forgot they also have a bondo'd hole in the left rear 1/4 panel for the antenna....

i think ur just mad because the first question you are asked when somebody see's your car is.... is it a real highway? ur forced to say no because mommy taught you better than to lie and then they turn away with a smug look and you feel lower than us "REAL SSP" owners

you browse the adds looking for someone to say highway or CHP and always ask the same dumb ass question ur a bored ass kid with a 4cyl

im glad i dont have a ex-chp...see i knew it wouldnt take long for someone with one to act like its something special....silly kids... even my old 4 cyl conversion hatch would hand your highway its ass on a silver plater...

He could very well get 3000 for the car depending on its condition but it wont be because its an ex chp car. Only people ignorant on these cars would think that. Good luck on selling it. A straight body coupe of ANY kind is worth 3000 right now to the right person.

I dont care if CHP swung doughuts in my SSP all day, the motors always come out of stangs anyhow. The fact is they are an extra added rareness. SSP coupes will always bring more money. I know its been a work vehicle and hammered on but at the same time it has an oil cooler and constant upkeep incase it had to do 150mph for 10 mins on a chase.

thats was my buddys old car! its a ture CHP, its got the holes on the pillars for the light, it still had the black&white paint before he painted the floor black and the pink states it was a prior police car... he had to move and sell the car! that block only had 40k miles,F-cam, and few other things. Sounded very healthy when we had it. that car has 4:10s also, i did need body work. but it was pretty fast.

+1 and dont be pissed cause you really want a CHP. By the way the highway patrol had all their cars dealer maintained, so no matter how much they beat up on them they probably had better maintenance than most people would do on their own. Last time i checked, theres not nearly the same following on just normal coupes vs. the SSP's.
