1.Your ad must have pics
2. Your ad must have a location
3. state what year/s that part/s are for sale for
4. No feeler ads if your going to sell it, sell it
5. MUST have a price, if your unsure then put a price and then OBO

Something like that.

THERE HAS BEEN ALOT OF PEOPLE POSTING STUFF FOR SALE AND NO INFO! if the poster does not have price, location, year,or model it will be deleted..

what you guys think good idea or no?

I can agree with everything but the pics. Not everyone can post pics every time, most of the people that have 20 for sale posts at a time don't have pics. Of the times they do put pics its almost a link to craigslist.

I think if you are selling a car then you should have to post a pic. People ask for pics right after anyway.

Posted by Yaterstang (Member # 7659) on :

If your selling a car you should also mention if the title is clean or salvage, so that way we dont have to pry it out of you when we call.

Me? Personally? I think it will RUIN one of the BEST features on cafords.......the FORD SALE section.

Sure, you have the occassional knucklehead that posts up on here with an ad like twin turbo kit for sale and that is it, but they are few and far between and filter themselves out, eventually.

You dont know how many sets of "FLAWLESS" rims I have gone to see that have TONS of curb rash. Time would have been saved for both parties by posting some damn pics for some $200 rims.

I agree,... there is no such thing as TOO MUCH INFORMATION when buying a car or other high priced parts.

Do you Honestly think a set of $200 rims would be FLAWLESS?

Sure if the SELLER states that they are! I saw some tri-bars that were PERFECT for $100, so YES you CAN find FLAWLESS rims for less than $200 smart guy.

I'm very good about posting my parts for sale with a good description and most of the time with pictures also. There are some people out there that are just beyond help. I just posted and add for some 3.55 gears on CL with pictures of a pinion and ring gear, for $75 then I get this guy that calls me and wants to know if I have the complete rear end for sale? I couldn't believe it!!!

no but some people get tired of makeing offers to every add. if you are saleing something you have a idea your looking for. atleast shot a obo price. i get tired of calling and pm'ing to give a fair price, only to get told my price isn't good a nuff. then i say ok what are you looking to get. the responce "make a offer".....

I agree, not to mention I hate when people want you to give email or send pm asking for pics when they could have just posted them in the ad for all to see in the first place!!!

+ 1,000,000! The "Pics coming soon" crap blows too! Moreover, if you aren't gonna take $5 less than your asking price why bother with the "OBO"???

Or should that read is the SELLER to much of a dumbass to post a price jsut to waste everyones time

Is a prospective buyer "stupid" for wanting to know what someone is asking or at least a ball park figure? EVERYONE has a price for what they are selling, POST IT. If I see "make an offer" instead of a price I skip it and dont even waste my time.

Well said.

You should also have your thread automatically locked if you post with the caps lock on. It's not going to sell any faster. [Big Grin]

Most of the time someone posts up to make an offer then when one is made they act like you kicked them in the nuts. There are some people that will offer $500 for a clean 93 Cobra if you post it up without a price, just say no and move on.... no need to talk mad shit to someone if they gave you a lowball offer, you asked for offers.

How about people that post the same thing 20 times or the people that bump every post they have and it fills the first 2 pages? I think if you have that much stuff to post for sale it should go in the vendor section.

I can see where you are coming from as I do it all the time. BUT it may be a good idea to be able to delete posts where the parts/car has been sold. That way it would clean up alot of the clutter and the parts/cars that are available are not 5 pages back where people have to bump them all the time [Whoo Whooooo!]

If you have more than one part to sell at least learn how to bump or ttt and update what you have sold. It does get cluttered up with the same person posting 5 times in a row for different parts.

Its just frustrating when I post something up and come back to find it 2 pages back an hour later.... I know, I'm exaggerating a bit. Maybe a way for the original person to remove the post would work good.

One thing that a sneaker website has in their for sale section is a piece of paper with the sellers SN and date on it. I would guess we could use that on parts that would be shipped.

Posted by 86BackInBlack (Member # 5372) on :

i think another good thing would be a how to for alot of stuff, like how to post pics. i see a "how do i post pics" question every other day. that or people could learn how to use the search function lol
