So what is so rare about an "A" code?? Granted they made more two barrels but I would not call it rare. And I own one.

They are a lot more rare than a "T code" 6 cylinder or a "C code" 2 barrel. I didn't feel like saying "more rare" or "unusual". Congrats on having one because you don't see too many of them. I don't know if you've looked around in a while.

BTW, if you want RARE, I also have a 1965 "K code" convertible. Feel free to comment on how rare that one is.

yeah, Vert + K code is quite rare. I sold my hood to a firefighter in Fairfield w/ a black one to finish his restoration since I had the early hood w/ the tabs at the front corners but only one matching headlight bucket. But unless you can produce numbers to back up your claim, I don't agree "A" code is rare. Depending on where you look 400k + hardtops were produced as '65 models. But no details are available for the actual engine and options breakouts.

I couldn't come up with another word besides "rare" to describe the relatively low production numbers for the 4 barrel A code option without using one of those words like "unusual" or "unique" that last made you cringe when your mom was telling you about the neighbor girl she just set you up on a date with back in high school.

I'm not willing to disclose the reserve price... YET. I may make that available to interested CA Fords members as the auction close draws nearer.
