They never made a factory 454 z 28 in 1979

matter of a fact most had 305s in them.

BUT if it is cheap there is a rising interest in those regardless of what motor is in them and depending on what kind of shape it is in.

Iono bout this one bro. If it was a 72 with the circular tail lights I would say do it. Especially since u could avoid smog. But as far as possibly having to do a restoration I don't see it being worth it for a 79. Unless the vert isn't in good shape either

it has the factory altered sticker on the door from chevy stating that they dropped a 454 in it , my dad thinks i should get it cuz its probably the only one but i only like 67' and up to the split bumper maro's and thats it ,

So it was ordered like that from the factory? Does he have any other paperwork with the special order from Chevy? If he has paperwork and u can prove it was a Factory package. U might have something brewing here. If u think it's a smart investment do it.... TTT [patriot]

i think it all comes down to what condition your vert is in, those "mullet" camaros( 74-8?) arent anything good, even with a big block in it, it will still be a turd because of all the smog garbage. unless the car is immaculate but just needs some motor work, or this guy has original GM documentation of the factory motor swap i wouldnt do it, unless your vert isnt in good shape or needs alot.

If that is true and you research it then I would say buy get it because it would be worth tens of thousands of dollars being a one of car.

It was definetly not a california car as the EPA would not allow, as you will find in your research.

Ask on http://www.nastyz28.com

Good luck man.
