Hello everyone.....I have some more info to update on this event. I will be creating an official thread for this event to start a attending and "going" list hopefully later this week...hopefully Wednesday.
I spoke with Mark Hite this weekend from the Marine Corp group who puts on this toy drive event. He forward me a flier they had produced and they are featuring our club this year in their advertisement. His group would love for us to be there earlier this year and stay a couple hours (9am to 11am). He is planning on having the local early morning tv show "Good Morning Sacramento" be out there doing their live TV show remotely from the toy drop off as we drive up and do the toy drop off. He has also promised an escort from the Elk Grove Police Department to help us all get into the parking lot as one group this year.
It sounds like it is going to be even bigger then last year....and Mark is hoping we can come with at least as many vehicles as we had last year. I told him we are hoping to blow that away!
I would really appreciate it if we all could start spreading the word on this event....and I plan on doing the same to all the other local Ford performance car forums once I can get the final details all listed in the official thread this week.
Stay tuned....this is really looking to take off this year....and I am getting excited thinking about all the toys we can bring in during these tough economic times to help families that otherwise wouldn't be able to provide toys to their children this holiday season.

Here is a copy of the offical press release poster the Marines Toys for Tots group is distributing:
They are hoping we can come with a group of at least 30 cars. I am hoping we can blow that away....thanks everyone for your help is spreading the word for this event.

Damn nice flyer! For those of you who didn't make it last year the Marine coordinator was blown away by our support. Our group helped fill up 4 bins for the toy drive and it felt damn good, we are all broke right now believe me I feel it more then you know but if you can hit up walmart and help support this cause it's definitely appreciated. Hope to see cafords members there and tell your friends.

Nice, man glad to see the list continues to grow. I'd love to see a huge turnout to blow the sponsors away even more then last year, they are talking about having news out there to check out our cars and Walmart has a ton of toys for $5 bucks if people need to save some money, so I hope that people see it as a great opportunity to get out and help while checking out some cool cars and bs'ing with fellow car nuts.

Feel free to join us all we ask is people bring one unwrapped toy to donate and obey our club rules which shouldn't be hard that day because I believe the P.D. will be meeting us. Last year we had everything from old 5.0's to Super Snakes so everyone is welcome.

Yeah we are meeting in West Sac then rolling to the event as a big group with what I hear will be a Police Escort.

Absolutely....EVERYONE is welcome! Like Mike said.....flying solo or in a group...come on out and meet us at the West Sac IKEA meet spot starting at 7:30am on December 10th....RAIN OR SHINE! We will leave around 8:30am for the big caravan over to the Elk Grove toy drop.
I just received word from the Marine group that they tried to get EGPD to escort us in to the parking lot, but once again they declined. That's ok....we have another idea brewing on how to get our big caravan into the parking lot in one piece...stay tuned.

Wanted to post up that OJ, coffee and donuts will be provided at the meet up spot starting at 7:30am in West Sacramento. Get there early...not sure how long the supply will last..and when its gone its gone!!

AMAZING turnout today!!! Thank you SO much for everyone that came out today!! The Toys for Tots folks wanted me to thank all of you for being a part today!! I was an increible success......and we will definately be doing it again next year. I truly feel lucky to be part of a group that can come out for the cause in force like we did.
I also want to thank those that helped spread the word for this event by passing out flyers....posting on other mustang message boards...using facebook or just via word of mouth. I really appreciate all your efforts..and i know the kids receiving the toys will as well!
