The first annual Bunny Cruise has arrived! Appropriately named as we killed two mapping out the mile markers. We have spent over 12 hours mapping this out to bring you the best drive possible.
Beautiful valleys, runs along fault lines, climbs up and over the Hills, past lakes, and down the cliffs to the ocean. It's one cruise you won't want to miss.
When - Saturday, September 29
9/29/07. Meet at 9am, leave at 10am.
Where - Starting in Gilroy, Ending in Marina.
Start will be at Shell gas station in Gilroy off 101, by the intersection of Bolsa Rd. and Travel Park Circle. End will be gas station off Reservation Rd. in Marina.
How Long - approximately 165 miles. Several gas stops and photo ops are included with an option to head home half way through the cruise on 101 for those who would like to eat lunch and leave.

So, it's not a cruise for me unless it's epic! This is definitely going to be a great mix of twisties and scenic views. It will be beneficial to bring a copilot along to navigate and read the warnings as well as codrive if you get tired.
Couple of very important points I'd like to make:
1. This cruise will be postponed if there is any rain two days before. Some of the roads are just too dangerous to drive while wet.
2. You will be passing through an army bass for a limited stretch. YOU MUST HAVE LICENSE, REGISTRATION, AND INSURANCE READY TO SHOW TO THE GUARD IN ORDER TO ENTER THE BASE. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR OURS BY SHOWING UP WITHOUT IT. THOUGH IT IS A BRIEF STINT THROUGH THEIR TERRITORY, THIS IS NOT A JOKE.
3. Obey all indicated speed zones on the cruise. There are more than enough places to have fun. Speed zones are indicated for your safety. Disobeying them may result in tickets, serious injury or death. Or military dudes with guns.
4. It's recommended to bring along some fix-a-flat and two-way radios as there are a lot of wilderness areas.
5. There are many regroup points, so it's best to drive at your own pace. If you are not comfortable driving fast, feel free to sit farther back in the pack. It's a cruise! Not a race.
For those who would like a quick route to map out, here are some of the roads:
-Hwy 25 south to 198.
-Peach Tree Rd to River Rd.
-Eat lunch in Paso Robles of Niblick Rd. (Those who have short time can head
out from here back up Hwy 101
-Nacimiento Lake Dr.
-Jolon Rd. through Hunter Liggett Army Reservation
-Nacimiento-Fergusson Rd. down to Hwy 1. Amazing scenery!! One or two
photo stops
-Hwy 1 home with one photo stop at Vista Point.

Haha, yeah right. The cougar could not survive that trip. I'm actually riding with my friend Bill (we mapped the route together) in his white C6.
You going to come out and play?
