This is our very first swap meet show so take advantage of it!!!!!!

Disclaimer: As always, Cafords expects the very best behavior from all of our outstanding 6000+ members. Anybody and everybody is welcome to show up, have a good time, and make some money too! All we ask, is that our members do not sell shady things at our meets that would reflect badly on our site. When in doubt, ask yourself if you would get in trouble if we found out what you were selling. If the answer is YES, leave it at home. Farmers Insurance was nice enough to allow us to use their lots. Lets be on our best behaviors as I know you all will be!

Burnouts, littering, and sideshows are NOT ALLOWED and subject to corrective action.

Weather is looking good as well! Bring suntan lotion!!

Weather for June 3rd! [Cool]

Help us publicize this event!!!!!
Printer-Friendly Flyer for the Show

Thanks!

Good question Ian,
We have it set up as first come, first serve on parking lot space. Prime location is key to selling so get there early if you can. [patriot] See everyone there!

On edit: I still have some 2006 special edition calendars from this years' contest. I will have those for dirt cheap as well as some Cafords stickers for our members until we run out.

Another good question,
That is to be determined based on getting a bbq available to me to take to the show. Also, if members are willing to pay $5 a person for food, we can gladly have that arranged. I would like people's thoughts on this
[patriot]

Is there going to be a restroom near by? I know it was unpleasant to use the one at Treasure Island, I can only imagine how the ladies felt trying to, IF they even did try and pee in the mens bathroom, i know my lady wanted nothing to do with the bathroom at TI, even i had a hard time trying to hold my breath and pee'ing [Big Grin]

Stoneridge Mall is right accross the street. However, the boys can, like Jesse says, go behind a tree and squat (there are plenty nearby). Girls are going to be out of luck unless they want to walk accross the street.

As for bbq, I am still working on getting a grill from someone in order TO bbq. Plus we need someone who wants to do the grilling for everyone.

why doesn't everyone pay 5 bucks now and get it catered or something? after people pay they can print tickets or something. if not catered pay some company to come out and cook, then they can sell there goods.

All details have been taken care of Mel dont worry [patriot]

As for the bathrooms, Im sorry to everyone who is bringing a girl. Being one myself, I realize that I will have to go accross the street to do anything. Sorry about that folks. I will remember that for our next show promise.

As for the bbq, I will discuss the possibility of having the paypal link up to pay ahead of time for the bbq and I will talk to Virgil about bringing his grill. I will let you guys know what we come up with. Just plan to be there and ready to sell your parts. Think of it as a great opportunity to get to know your fellow sellers and see what you are really getting in person.

Don't miss this debut show!!!

That can definitely be arranged. We will probably be selling the last of the calendars, the t-shirts we have left, and giving out some stickers.

I know a guy that just started a BBQ company/restaraunt called Pops N Sons BBQ. I can ask him how much he would charge per person if you would like for him to cater. The only thing about it is that he must have a certain amount of "for sure" purchasers because he's scared that he'll lose money buying all the suplies in advance. Let me know if you'd be intersted in this Lauren [patriot]

Ask him what his deal is and let me know through pm's. If it sounds like a plan, we can definitely go from there [patriot]

Also if you guys want to go here:
Cafords Meet Flyer

Print out a bunch of these and distribute them and post them up at local high school, colleges, etc. we can get alot more publicity for this event. I know a friend at Monument Car Parts that I will be posting a flyer there as well. Please lets get the word out on this show. We have a hugh parking lot to fill!! [Smile]

[patriot] Funny, you were reading my mind. During my endeavors today I ran into a bunch of people with Ford vehicles. A couple of Stangs/Cobra and a dude with a badass, lifted F-3 gazillion or whatever the F it was. Damn thing was like 800 feet off of the ground [Razz] I told them about the show and they all said they'd try and show, but I was thinkin' if I had a flyer to hand out..that'd be even better. Well, there I go, I guess. I'm about to print out a handfull.

God, I love this weather [Whoo Whooooo!] [dance]

....AND, yes, like Spdvl said, we have a totally killer, secluded, comfortable lot to fill. So, everyone tell a friend-type thing. Farmers Insurance Co. is totlally on our side with this. In fact I have a feeling a few of their employees will show. I saw a few Stangs in the lot [patriot] ..let's not "blow it" and have a great time. [patriot]

Thanks to Rick and everyone else who has offered to help distribute flyers. As always, I could totally use more of you so let me know that you are doing your part to make our shows killer for everyone [patriot]

I can't promise anything as far as the stickers. It will be first come, first serve due to the limited amount we have left. I suggest come early if you want first pick [patriot] T-shirts will be there as well [Smile]

As far as the bbq, I am still working out details with a local catering service so as soon as I know more, I will post up. Thanks!

Pehaps you can make both. If I remember right, the GG thing is in Pleasanton also. The GG's gig goes all weekend, maybe you can find time to stop in to see your Cafords bretheren for a few and still make the GG show. [patriot]

I'm glad you guys were able to work out the details [Whoo Whooooo!] So whats the pricing per plate?

Good questions guys!

You will be paying them at the show. They will have a booth made up near the front entrance. Price per plate is still being worked out but shouldn't be above $8 a plate. I am trying to work out a $6 plate. I will let you know when I find out. [patriot]

Just spoke to our caterer and this is what he had to say about food for the show!!!

"We will have several plates to choose from, the ribs will be $8 a plate and the chicken will be $7.00. Both plates come with baked beans, corn on the cob, and garlic bread. We will also have (Cheese)burgers which will be around $4.50 or so. They will be worth it, we dont believe in little hamburgers. Also there will be hot links, hot dogs, chips, soda and water. So we will have something for every price range."

I hope that sounds good to everyone!

See you all at the show. Even if its stopping by on your way to another prior engagement [patriot]

I'm not sure if I can make the show just yet. If I can make it I'll be sure and bring all the shirts I have in stock.

If I can't make the show I'll get the shirts to Lauren so she can coordinate someone to sell them.

Blue shirts are $10 each OR $15 for two

Red shirts are $15 each OR $25 for two

SIZES OF SHIRTS ARE POSTED IN THE "STORE" SECTION AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE.

As you can see there aren't a ton of shirts left so if you want to reserve a shirt then use the paypal feature and buy it now and wear the shirt to the show!!!

FREE SHIPPING ON ANY SIZE ORDER [patriot]

I will probably go, but I don't know that many people. Why do you ask?

I would love it if you and all the Sacstangs could make it out to our event. I know that we all had some fun at your bay cruise earlier in the year so lets do it again this time! I hope to see your support for our show [patriot]

I live in Sac but I don't really know any of the Sacstangs. You might want to post it on their site so they know about it. But if there is a meeting place for the sac guys to cruise out there..I'd like to know..thanks

Only pay if you want to eat. If not, then just hang out, sell parts, whatever you want to do. [patriot]

Are you guys holding the 5th Annual CAFords show still this year or will this show-n-shine be taking its place? Any awards at this event or is it a park and bs only gig? Thanks in advance [Smile]

I would check sacstangs website for details. I have not been on there since I posted the show. Maybe try and help me motivate them to make the trip out [patriot]

Alice~There will still be an annual show this year but the date has changed. More details will follow as the date approaches. This show will just be a show n' shine (no prizes), swap meet, and a bbq!

~~~I also have a very cool update~~~
I have a meeting with Future Ford of Concord today to discuss the possibility of having their company sponser future shows hosted by our site! Wish me luck guys because this could be a really great partnership for us [patriot] [Smile]
Its the one closer to the mall. The link to get directions to the show is on page 1 in my first post. Please let me know if its not working for you [patriot]
I believe it is on the c/o Valley & Bernal, near the main entrance to the fairgrounds. It should be a busy day for that area due to the Goodguys show this weekend.
That is the other Farmers parking lot. That is NOT the correct lot. This one is off Koll Center Parkway near the mall. Do not go to the Valley parking lot.
ON EDIT:
Thanks to Fordthunderbird I have realized that the address in the "link to driving directions" will take you to the wrong Farmers parking lot. I cannot believe that I did not catch this before so I apologize and appreciate those who caught it before its too late. Here is the correct address:
11555 Dublin Canyon Road
Pleasanton, CA 94588
(This is the parking lot for the Farmers next to the Stoneridge Mall.)
Please spread the word as soon as you can to those who might not see this post in time.
Thank you [patriot]
The meet officially starts at 10am. But the mods and the catering crew will be there as early as 8:30am (well some of us will be there that early) [Razz] Plan to show up anytime between 8:30am and 10am and you should be just fine. Thanks [patriot]
Lauren, I'm glad to see you were the one that was off, I was beginning to doubt my knowledge of the area & my ability to read a map. [Big Grin] I accept your apology [Razz]
Well I just got back from the show. Overall I was very surprised with the turnout. For our first show of the year, we had about 40+ cars show up. My only disappointment was that not everyone showed up at the same time. We had some stragglers at 1pm and some others at 1:45! [Razz] My goal for our next show is to have everyone stop coming and going in and out all the time during the car show. I would like it if everyone would jsut show up and chill out. Other than that, good times and thanks to all the members who did come and support my efforts [patriot]
BBQ was great Dave! Glad to be of assistance to help your company on its feet [patriot] Overall, I had a really good time. There was a good amount of cars, but like everyone said, it would have been a lot better if everyone came around the same time and stayed for the same length. It seemed like people were in and out, which made it look like there were less cars than there really was.
Lauren, it was nice meeting you and I think you chose an excellent spot. I saw it right when I was exiting from the freeway. I hope the next one will be just as good!
And to those that I met, (sorry I'm not good at names, but I remember faces) it was nice meeting you too [patriot]
It was nice meeting you too Ian and everyone else at the show. We have so many members now that I barely know half the newbies anymore. Thanks once again to PopNSons BBQ for some kickass food and their time and patience. I had some great fun in the sun and I hope to see you all back at the annual show August 12th. [patriot]
