This is the official thread for Cafords members who are going to the bay area cruise February 19th:

I'm thinking, since we have so many Cafords people that will be representing in what is going to be a killer cruise......

I think we should all roll in there together as one big site appearance! Im sure the other clubs will be doing the same so lets show them how we roll!! I'm willing to find a central meeting location for everyone in the 925, 510, 707, and the 408 areas if you are all willing to cooperate. What do you say?

For the 925 folks in Livermore, Dublin, Pleasanton, Danville, Concord, Martinez, etc meet in Lafayette at Albertsons off Hwy24.

Directions: Take Hwy24 towards Oakland. Exit Central Lafayette. Make a right turn at the light. Stay in far right hand lane and let it curve you underneath the freeway overpass. First light, again make a right turn into parking lot on righthand side. Albertsons is the first building so look for us towards the back of the lot near the gas station. I will be there with Rixsikcobra at 9:45am for those who want to come early.I'm going to say that I want all of us to leave at 10am sharp.

From there.....

We travel to the next meeting location for the 510 San Jose, Hayward, Castro Valley, etc folks. I propose we meet off Hwy 880 and exit at the Port of Oakland. The offical exit name is 7th Street. I hope to be there at 10:30am. Leave about five minutes later.


From there.....

We head to Treasure Island to meet up with the rest of the clubs.

If this sounds good to you, let me know! I have many interested and would love to show up with all of you as a group!

I'm gonna tune it right away 'cause I got 60#ers going in there. I'm gonna drive to LA and back and then put the power tune in when I return....however many miles that will be...probably close to a 1000. It'll be ready for the cruise....AND YOU BET YOUR ASS I CANT WAIT FOR THAT CALL...I hope to seeya there with the SMOKIN'LX

Actually it does'nt smoke anymore since I swapped engines and got rid of the oil leak's.

I am very pleased at all the pm's and responses to us meeting and cruising together for this event. Thank you to all who have shown interest. If no one flakes, we are looking at 15 cars already meeting in Lafayette alone. When we reach the oakland meeting location, there should be more there too.

Cool, glad you'll be able to make it, we'll all meet up in Lafayette.

As far as the car goes, HCI built a stout new motor for me basically from the block up with CP pistons, Manley rods, Comp Cams(n20 grind), titanium valve springs, Cobra heads reground and valves refurbished, 60# injectors, all balanced to the T and built with TLC . Gotta drive it to LA and back for break in miles and have it tuned still. It will be ready by the day of the cruise. It will be fun...I can't wait to get on the gas!!!

There are alotta rides comin' down from Sac and several from the 707(JohnB, Spec-Fabrication,03SVT, and a couple of others). I'm gonna propose that you guys meet up somehow and roll together and meet us in Lafayette, where we will cruise to Oak and then TI. As the date gets closer, keep an eye out for posts for/from people your way...or make your own thread and rally the 707ers to a spot and you lead them

the gf planned a trip to santa barbara that weekend. i was about to cancel going on the cruise, but decided i will drive back at 4a.m. sunday to make this. this cruise is going to be too sick to miss!

If we have the vacaville guys meet with the fairfield guys, and then we have all of us meet the vallejo guys, I would think we'd have a pretty sizeable group. However, I would like to meet with the sacramento guys also.

So, in my opinion , I think we should all meet in Fairfield. I say that because it will allow us to decide whether or not to take 680 and meet in Lafayette (with the rest of the CAFords guys) OR just stay on 80 and head to the city.

I don't know all of the 916/707 guys but since the Sacramento guys will already be meeting at 9:00, all the rest of us 707 guys need is a meeting place. Then the two groups can meet up and have a HUGE rolling out together. It kind of reminds me of those big harley rides I used to see when the dealership was here in Fairfield.

ANYWAY

If the 916 guys pulled off at N. Texas street into the Raleys parking lot at 10:00am, and all the 707 guys met there at 10:00am, then this cruise to the city would not only work out great, but look cool as well


That was my idea. Any 916/707 guys think of anything/any place else?? Lets make it happen!

I spoke with a guy from sacstangs and they said they will be rolling through nonstop. But he is going to call me when the 916 group is near fairfield and we can all jump on the freeway and go as they come through.


I think SAFEWAY is a better idea (Thanks David) than my original raleys idea. Simply because it is right off of Air Base Parkway AND it is about 2 seconds from a freeway onramp

Now, since the sacramento group is leaving at 9am, the 707 group should probably meet at 9:15am and wait a few minutes until the 916 guys roll through. On a light traffic morning, driving 70ish MPH, the 916 guys should make it to fairfield in about 30 minutes.


So for the 707 can we all meet on February 19th at 915am at the SAFEWAY off AIR BASE PARKWAY??

Agree Safeway is right off the highway, just whenever Sacstangs is approaching/passing N. Texas exit, whoever you are in contact with, have him/her call you, then we can get in and go!

Correct....you have your choice of two options...I appointed 03SVTPower to handle the Hwy80 people and coordinate to meet at Safeway off Air Base Pkwy exit.

My group is meeting in Lafayette off Hwy24 at the Albertsons off Central Lafayette exit.

You may join whichever group you prefer. I hope this helps

Just be sure to park where the Cafords group is or stickers and t-shirts wont be available to you. I will also have our 06 Cafords Calendars there for purchase as well. $20 so bring cash

Just to clarify things, when you get off on 7th street, head to where everyone "normally" goes when they exit that way. Meaning take a left at the light and go down a couple street lights and a couple stop signs until you get to the straightaways. I will meet you all

i actually may be backing out of the cruise. i really wanted to go, but my car is detonating anything past 4000 rpm. we put the headers on and it ran great, installed the 8 rib, and of course no belt slip makes more boost which makes more power which is causing my car to detonate. i won't be around this weekend to get tuned, so i'm most likely missing this cruise. hope you guys have a blast if it still takes place

i work like to say that it was a huge meet but the people doing donuts and stuff was completely unneccesary and all it did was attract unwanted attention from the cops and now meets will probably not longer be able to there again. i waited for people to clear and a cop came up to me and chewed me for the event and i didnt organize it. he said we will be waiting for it next time and he will consider a street racing event and write tickets and impound cars. THANKS TO ALL THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE NOW RECKED THAT SPOT TO HAVE A MEET NOW!!!! some people are just so stupid

wow that was one of the biggest turnouts i have ever seen great spot awsome people except for the occ. sideshow but i really liked it except for the fact my motor is torn down to the heads right now due to an unfortunate head gasket problem but hey with 500 ponies at the wheels its not always clockwork. well she will be fixed by the weekend...should have left it in storage oh well it gives me a chance to clean it up and give it a tune up also. see yall
