Ya, treasure Island was NOT a Cafords event. This annual show is the big one for the year. It has awards, vendors, there WILL be girls, and much more.

You can bring as many cars as you like. If you win for both cars then you get two awards. It's PEER judging so peers pick which cars they like.

Around 12pm is when people start to get hungry, other plans to attend to, maybe get a cruise together... In any case, maybe next year we will be able to get food/sound vendors and extend the show a couple of hours. 5 year mark, should be off the hook!!! This was the feedback from those that attended. Open to suggestions.

FYI Everyone
I will be the representative at the Håns Racecraft booth, with all the highend suspension parts on display. There will be a raffles, mailing list for products and future discounts, as well as a sponsorship interested form.
Hans Racecraft is interested in sponsoring car that are willing to race and show off the products, as well as testing. There are some great benefits to being sponsored by Hans Racecraft (parts, apparel, help with racing entry costs, etc)
Sponsorship Requirements
- Races in many events
- Must use some of the Hans Racecraft products
- Promote the products
- Have fun and give insight
- Have the Hans Racecraft windshield banner on
www.hansracecraft.com
We are even looking for test cars to have parts developed for that particular model. The car will be required to be dropped off at the main manufacturing facility in LA County, but free stuff comes out of it.
Test Car Required For Part Development
- Focus
- Foxbody
- Lightnings
- IRS Equipped Mustang (Tubular IRS Parts are an interest for development at Hans Racecraft)
so, if any of you have any questions about the products, sponsorship, testing, etc. please dont hesitate to ask me at the cafords.com carshow Ill be glad to help everyone out.

I can't wait to take it out! Last I knew, I am waiting on custom cams and pistons, so I am not sure if it will be ready for the show but regardless, the next event the car is ready, the beast will be there!
We have a lot of people coming, and with a lot of sponsors, this will be a great event to check out!

Everyone have a great time at the show today. I wish I could be there for ya Lauren. I know how much work you put into this and it'll be evident come showtime. I know the show will still rock on without little 'ol me .
As for me, I'm headed to Infineon today to be part of the shindig with Hendrick Motorsports...which just so happens to be the owner of Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson's cars. Word has it they'll be there and I can meet them. They are my two favorite Nascar drivers, so that's the ONLY reason I'm not at the show today. You all have fun and get LOTS OF PICS and post em

It was a great show today. Kinda crappy weather but that didnt stop anyone from hanging out and sharing some good laughs and chit chat.
Thank you to all that attended this year's annual show! Its always nice to see some old caford faces and some new ones as well.
Pictures from this years' show should be available for viewing soon.
Let's hear what everyone else has to say. What did you like and dislike? What can we improve on(if anything) for next years' event?
Thanks guys and gals!
~Lauren
PS This is completely MY FAULT but I forgot to present the award for the person who showed the most support in promoting our cafords event. That award goes to V-Town Coupe (Jeff) for all his super hard work. Congradulations Jeff and please pm me with your address so I can send you your award.
the show was awesome, i had a great time meeting new people and chatting with old friends.
one thing that needs to be changed is the fox body class. it doesn't make sense that every year of classic mustang is in the same category as the fox bodies.
next year it should be 64-86 mustangs as one category, and 87-93 as another.
other than that, it was a great show!
(and i like the red shirts matt)

I had a great time at the show hanging with drew, craig, mark, my girl, doug, lauren, well you all know who you are. I want to thank everyone that voted for my car and congratulate all the winners. i only have a few things ..not really feeling the red shirts (I like the blue ones better thats just my .02) and my biggest concern is the dang cat. A class I feel its unfair to put the foxbodies in a class with the old schools there are too many foxbodies hardtops and convertibles that are trying to place and now it seems with the upcoming of so many members bringing out pre-86 its seems like allot of cars get overlooked and there is only three spaces to win. In my opinion (like anyone cares) i think it should be pre-86, and than a 86-93 mustang. There was a couple real nice foxbody coupes that i thought would have won but with the old schools in they were negelected. So once again great show.. thanks for all the hard work matt, lauren, sawson, and others( sorry forgot names) it was a real chill show but i think for next year if there is enough participants the cat. should be split or maybe make one award for the old schools since there are fewer and the normal three places for the foxbodies. Thanks guys see yall soon

sorry, i have another suggestion...maybe make the show a bit later or last longer....for the last two years, the sun hasn't come out up in crappy hayward until noon or later, just as everyones leaving. it sure would be nicer up there if we could have the show during the late morning till early afternoon, like 10 until 3 or so....it just seems to be over so quickly.
just a suggestion.

I had a grand time at the show, it was a lot of fun seeing allmy friends I rarely see. And a very big thank you to those who voted for my car so I could bring home 1st place honors in my class
And now my thoughts on changes for the big 5 show
Show Hours: I like the show running for 4 hours (I tend to get restless after 4 hours), you cold always make it from 10-2 for those who like to sleep in (however 8-12 is peachy for me)
Fox bodies: They really need their own class.
Judging: I would like to see judging more like the Apex show where each "judge" can choose their 1-3rd place in each class (because its so hard to choose just one!), you could then arard on a points scale 1st=5pts, 2nd=3pts, 3rd=1pt or something..
Shirts: I like dark colored shirts, and having "girl" shirts available in a size that fit me was a nice suprise (thanks to whomever planned that!)
Anyway thats my thoughts. Thanks again for a great show!

But I do agree with splitting the classes a little more. And biasedly I would create a new catagory for the 05's+. Only because Ford radically changed the body style and it's hard to compare a 99 GT to an 05 GT. Just my 2 cents.
Again a great show.

Great show CAfords!!!! I had a blast! I wish more cars would have shown up but it was still a lot of fun! I want to thank all the little people who voted my little escort into 3rd place in my class, even though it was only three cars in it! lol! I should have entered the v6 class and won it all lol!!!

I thought that there was around 80 cars registered. Was that right? Did alot of the registered entries not show up?

the show was cool, i met new people and saw some really nice stangs and trucks. i wanna thank those who voted my stang in 3rd place but i do agree with you guys that there shouldve been a separate class for foxbodies but i guess there werent enough entries to make more classes. maybe next year there will be a better turnout and better weather.

I had the "old school" 69 fastback that was there and I will agree that the '64 1/2 to '73 Mustangs should be in their own class and have a '79 - '93 Fox Body class. Heck then I would bring my bone-stock black '89 GT convertible since it wouldn't be going up against its stable mate.
Anyway nice show.

sorry, i have another suggestion...maybe make the show a bit later or last longer....for the last two years, the sun hasn't come out up in crappy hayward until noon or later, just as everyones leaving. it sure would be nicer up there if we could have the show during the late morning till early afternoon, like 10 until 3 or so....it just seems to be over so quickly.
just a suggestion.
good point drew!

Wow, I had a great time. Congrats to Shaun, Craig, and all the winners. The cars looked great and the CaFords.com moderators were very generous with the raffles!!! This was a great show and cant wait to see what next years will be like...
My only suggestion is that there should be either some entertainment or something that we could all interact in/with. Just from my opinion, i was there the whole time 8-12, it kinda gets slow after checking out everyones rides and voting and chatting a while, it kinda slows down. I found myself just sitting and waiting sometimes... I am not trying to cut down or say I didnt have a good time, but since there isnt a ridiculous amount of cars like the goodguys show, I dont think I could walk around for 4 hours looking at 40 or 50 cars... Maybe its just me because I have like ADD and always have to be doing something, but I think it would be cool if there was some activities or games or something to do for prizes (other than raffle) or something... But thats just my opinion, so if you think its retarded, feel free to say so, but I thought I would throw in my .02!

if i had a suggestion, which i hope goes through, move the show from 8-12 to 10-2pm instead. it's a PITA for some of us that live an hour or 2 away to get to hayward at 8am....that means, get up a 5am and get ready...not fun

For The hrottle Stop crew, we really appreciate the hard work that's put into these shows. Everyone that was involved for this year's deserves a hand.
Now, for suggestions. We'd also like to jump on the later in the day train. Since our shop s in Roseville, we had folks get up at 5 to be there to set up. A 10-2 or 3 would be just fine.
At the DVMA show in Antioch, they had the coolest award presentation I've seen. They had the winners drive their cars up so everyone could see what car won. I know that is a bigger show, but mabe add what car and the name of the owner to the winner's announcment. Makes it easier for us "newbies" to the crowd to ge to know each other.
There also needs to be more advertising. Yes, this is expensive, but putting posts on other Mustang sites wouldn't be too hard, or cost anything, other than time. Signage directing folks to the show would help, too. May garner some intrest from passer by's.
Other than those comments, congrats to all the winers.

Thanks guys for putting it all together! HCI had a blast BS'ing with all ya'll.
I too have a suggestion...
Seems to me in the past few years there's been ever increasing members, yet the car shows/GTG's seem to be getting smaller each time. If I were to take a stab as to why that is I'd say it's the $35 entry fee to show off your ride. Most will agree that there's dead-ringers for winning certain classes.....I know a lot of people that simple can't justify spending that kind of money to show off their projects. I'd bet turnout would be 2-3 times what it was if the price was dropped to around $10 (with T-shirt). Obviously there's a lot of $$$ that goes into an event like this....so.....I'd suggest off-setting the price by having the sponsors pay more (plus, the lower the entry fee, the more cars that will enter which will off set some of the price reduction right there). I can't speak for the other sponsors, but the past 2 shows has been WELL worth the sponsorship price for HCI! & the more members that participate in the car show, the more buisness the sponsers will get off the event...
I believe there's a happy medium between sponsor price & entry fees that could easily double if not tripple the turnout. Win-win for everybody.
Oh....& I'm ALL FOR a 10-2pm show! (getting up before sunrise suck-diddly-uks!)

I agree with the above post. Lowering the entry fee and changing the time would benefit more members. I remember the Milpitas car show/cruise in 2003 had A LOT of cars. The parking lot was so full that cars were FORCED to park in a second area. Free entry went a long way that day. I paid the 35 dollars because I was more than willing to contribute to something I am grateful to be a part of (CAFords.com family). But the amount of cars who parked off-site bummed me out a little because many of them were very nice. Even if those members were not allowed to participate in the judging, they chould have been able to park in the lot for all to see. We had two parking lots full of beautiful mustangs and in my opinion, it should have been one. Still, it was a great day and I think if some minor changes are made to the upcoming events, the turnouts will return to their once massive numbers.
