Damn thats shitty..pretty scary to have been the driver with the throttle stuck like that, that sucks..one hell of a burnout though! [Eek!]

Better to wreck like that and have your throttle stick than go down the track at full speed and realize that you can't stop. I wonder if there was a way to turn off the car?

Luckily, the car wasn't making any forward progress with the throttle stuck. Or worse yet, make it's way back to the starting line.

you can see in the video one of the staff did turn the car when flip the battery kill switch

throttle was not stuck driver got knocked out when it hit the wall n foot was on the gas peddle..

Eric, the driver of the car, is ok. He is a little banged up, but otherwise in good health and already planning his next ride. The first impact knocked the master cylinder off the fire wall and the throttle cable bracket is attached to the master cylinder bolts which held the throttle open. Eric was knocked unconscious but came to right before the emergency crew started removing him from the car. He tried pulling up on the throttle with his foot and getting the car shut off but was still a little out of it. His plans are to build a 10.5W car which will allow him to run his engine wide open instead of limiting his timing and boost just to get down the track. There is a lot more in that engine. Talk about an emotional roller coaster weekend, Eric ran his 1st 7 sec pass previous to the wreck at 7.77 @182. We were hoping that addding 2 more degrees of timing would put it in the 7.50 zone if it would hook up. Quite a challenge on 275/60R15 MT drag radials. I plan on taking a car next year to this race as the racers and action is second to none.
