Posted by 87 hatch (Member # 8100) on :

It was at infineon . I ran 11.045 and 11.015 and my last run was the 10.86 . The wind died down for my last run

Congrats!!!!

I remember the day I went 10s for the first time. Grinning ear to ear. I thought...what can be better than this?

Just wait...the addiction will kick in and you will shoot for 9s...then 8s...then 7s....

[Smile]

Congrats on the achievement [patriot] What blower are you running? What psi?

Posted by forced331 (Member # 1270) on :

I believe he is running an S-trim with T-trim internals with a 3.7" pulley boosting about 7psi. 10.1 compression 347!

That's my setup but I only seen 6.4 lbs of boost the run before that . There is a video but the guy who was recording wasn't around when I launched so he only got half the pass .

7 psi and you went 10.86 [patriot]

How much boost you plan on trying with the 10:1 setup?

Craig, that's an absolute valid point!

I could easily run 10's at Infineon. I 60ft better at Infineon than I do at Sac. It was also a very warm day when I was there. I only had 2 passes with my 10 second setup on 1 day. If I had week after week of running that setup I am sure I could have knocked a couple tenths off that. I only ran two passes and it went 10.84 and 10.87. I put the 3.33" pulley on and ran 11.08, 11.11, and 11.16 at the same mph I had previously run at Infineon with that pulley and the Nittos.

I would prove it but they would never let me back! I ran 11.44 on Saturday with a 3.8" pulley at Infineon so the 3.12" pulley which gives me another 5-7 psi of boost should put me pretty deep into the 10's.

Barry will probably beat my 10.84 the next time out. I want to get the TKO in the car and then we both need to go to Sac and see how they compare in the same conditions. I don't have a chance if he puts on a smaller pulley, but that can be dangerous with 10:1 and no intercooler. Of course the MPH will be off at Sac now that they screwed up the trap.

I call bs to all Sac times/mph's.

Unless they're duplicated at Sears Point, they just are soft numbers...

Posted by need-a-cage (Member # 5415) on :

The times are valid. The mph got screwed up AFTER I made my 10 sec pass there. Just look at Barrie's 302 pass that was over 130mph but his 1/8th mile speed was slower than mine on my 128.5mph pass. If you look at his 1/8th speed on his 128.5mph pass at Infineon it is almost identical to my 1/8th pass on my 128.5mph run at Sac. I ran the same pulley at both tracks and the speed was the same.

When was the last time you ran a car at Sac? We'll see what all the guys from Infineon do there in a couple weeks in the Division 7 finals. I have talked to several guys at Infineon that have run recently at Sac and their ET's are the same as Infineon on a night without a head wind or on a weekend event when the track is prepped better. It all depends on the wind and air temp on the day you race.

If I can get 11.44 with a 3.8" pulley and 7psi of boost, I can surely hit the 10's with a 3.12" pulley and 12-14psi of boost.

So Craig you time is BS .I guess you need to put a cage in that thing and run it at Infineon

He wont do the cage . He cant get the car seats in there if he dose

Posted by need-a-cage (Member # 5415) on :

Yep, I will probably never do a cage. Over half the miles I put on that car are with the kids in the back. If I lose access to that back seat the car will never get driven. If it was legal to make the cage with a removable bar behind the front seats then I would consider it.
