Finally my dad's 98 Cobra broke into the 11s tonight in 98 degree weather at sac raceway. When we first got there it was 107 degrees. Hot as hell. First run was 11.96, 2nd run was 11.79. Then we let the car cool down and the 3rd run was 11.66, 4th was 11.95 (had some problems)
We got in hella runs, we were the ONLY car there for about 2 hours. I think it was the 5th or 6th run we blew a hose off the blower. The last run of the night the clutch cable came off the clutch quadrant so we called it a night after fixing that.

LOL yeah my dad was granny shifting it, he knows he wanted to get a feel for the car better since we've never been able to really finish a run without blowing a hose or breaking something.
He didn't get a chance to even use the line lock off and rev limiter off the line last night.

Nice to hear that the car is out at the track again. What kind of numbers is the motor putting down to the rubber. I am sure you guys got more then the 11.66 in it. Shoot my little 331 did that with DR's. Yeah tell your dad to put some more practice in that shifting too!

we had the A/F ratio done on it about 2-3 years ago with the old blower.
We have the F.A.S.T. 2 system for it, we just haven't installed it yet.

Because its untuned, running with a MAF and is stock interior.
There is no such thing as a "fast" street honda my Semi-stock GT will beat a "Fast" Street Honda.

What do you mean it has an SHM motor? Does it have ported heads and cams? Stock Cobras with S Trim's with just regular bolt ons trap 115-120mph easy...

Its a SHM motor with Stage 2 heads, Stage 2 intake with shortrunners, blower cams, Its untuned for the D1SC procharger and tuned for a much smaller P1SC procharger. With its old setup it ran 118-122 passes, it also had 3.73 gears. Now it has 4.30s.
UNTUNED means its not running 100%, i guess some people don't know what that means.

Also if you didn't know this but if you don't keep it floored all the way until your passed the big signs you won't get an accurate mph. If you let off at the 1/4 mark your MPH will be lower than it should. My dad was letting off it before the signs cause he didn't know this.
I believe once we get the F.A.S.T. System in it and get it all tuned it will be an easily high 10s car the way it sits now but if we throw some long tube headers on it and tear out all the motors for the convert, the stereo that doesn't work, the backseat, some carpet, maybe some racing seats then it should be a low 10s car but then if we upgrade to a D2 procharger or bigger it could be a high 9s

i don't watch tv much, but i don't video tape hondas breaking down at the track or running 20 seconds times with turbos so i knew of a couple of "fast" hondas that someone else has filmed.

Those videos aren't anything. I can post up a bunch of vids of domestics beating hondas too and vice versa. Dana man I think you are stuck in a world 10 years ago or something. Imports are not that slow anymore. Hondas have really high trap speeds if you ever race one of the fast ones on the freeway you'll get smoked. Believe me on that! I race them all the time since I'm an import and they run high 140 traps easily. I don't care how much tweaking you do with your combo right now its not going to trap high 140s. And there is NO way your semi stock gt can hang with them you'll get killed. Of course I beat the shit out of them but he'll I'm just that damn good. Most of the fast ones are in LA but there is an import race at Sac within the next few months so they may be coming up to race. Hell I know of 8 sec hondas, 7 sec supras, 7 sec dsm's, 6 sec Solaras.
Why are you guys racing it untuned? I get the untuned part but I don't get the racing it untuned part.
Don't get me wrong I don't like those hondas either. But you gotta give them credit when they run the times and many of them have. I don't see why you think they are so slow and why you think you or your dad will smoke them. Hell I even have a hard time with some of them and I'll smoke just about anyone here. And yes I'm an import too!!!

Here's a clue for you. My street import is faster than most street domestics including just about all here on cafords. The only one that can beat me is JP (I think he's still street) other than that I'd whoop up on the rest. Its obvious that domestics can be made to be faster and that there are more fast domestics than there are fast imports. You foos throw out times like its no big deal. If its not that big of a deal then why aren't there more single digit street cars here on cafords? Most of you don't even know what it takes to run the numbers. Go buy a clue its also known as seat time.
I have an import. Its the fastest street import in the bay and one of the fastest in CA. Its a daily driver. Its also a trailer queen but its NOT a weekend slut. She's too classy to go out on weekends dressed up like that. She's a lady, not a jezebel.

UNTUNED means you are using an ooooollllddd tune.
UNTUNED means your A/f might be all over the place.
UNTUNED means you don't know the if your car is making SAFE power... and not one throttle lift away from puking a rod.
UNTUNED means you are beating on the car with NO IDEA of how the motor is running.
Get it tuned before flogging it again!!

atp turbos lil pickup running 9s is a fast import if you ask me, and if it wasnt for it being a truck and having the cage come out the rear glass, you wouldnt even think twice about it running 9s on a 8in tire

Hey Happy I know the guy in the truck really well. He's a bud of mine I called him after he raced King Tom but we didn't get a chance to talk much because he was at the track. I pretty much know everything about that truck. He's a super cool dude only superceded in coolness by yours truly.
He and I won't race each other we're friends. But just for your info he has a LOT less hp than I do but he is also lighter. So I'll leave it at that.
ATP did not build that truck he built it on his own. ATP just sponsored the turbo. Black Trax did the cage. The rest was done by him including most of the tuning. His rear tire is wider than 10.5, which is what I run. You may have seen it with the street wheels on but his drag set up has a decent size tire.
This is a dyno sheet of mine. Its on street power. I'm not going to say how much more I have left in it but if peeps believe that's all its got that's fine by me!! From 65 mph to 185 mph I average over 800 rwhp in this graph. I'd like to see how many other street imports can say that! Or street domestics for that matter! And hell that's only in 1 gear!!!

We'll tune the Cobra ourselves after we've installed the FAST System. My dad already dropped enough money into the FAST system why would he waste more money getting the car tuned when we'll just be tearing it all apart this winter?
The car ran 11.66 untuned, the motor is built for 1200hp, we're running 110 leaded, i don't think the amount of HP its making would have caused any damage to the engine. The only problems it has being untuned is it has trouble starting sometimes and if its not warmed up it dies.

Its full interior besides having to take the back seat out for the cage. Still has all working power options like ps, pw, pdl. Has working cold a/c. Stock suspension (irs), no hacking of the body whatsoever. And no weight reduction. In fact I'm heavier than a stock supra due to the safety requirements. But its ok that's fine by me if you want to race. I just LOL at your street car comment. And if you think you can chop me off easily you got another thing CUMMINS!!! Its actually going to be a good race!!
I'll take the race against you and your other sbc friend. Who is that anyway, JD? If it is he's a little too fast so we may have to accommodate for that, but I'll race him anyway. And regarding the imports, I don't usually race other imports unless its at an event. We gotta stick together and fight the power! But if they do want to race I'll give them the opportunity to take a shot at the title. After all there can be only one and the belts been around my waist for a long ass time!!!

well i kinda left somethin out.......
my friend was working on my car and kinda cracked the egr to header tube, so he took it off and disconnected the egr sensor.....so that might be contributing or is the problem....he needs to weld the tube where its cracked and then plug in the sensor and hopefully thats that.......

i got a center force duel friction clutch and plate... i still got the stock clutch adj... i got BBK brand new that i havent installed yet.. its bien sitting for a year in the box ....

Grimis. Well it seems like your cheerleader Natalie wants to set up a race between you and me. I don't know you so all is cool between you and me. I set up my own races so I figure I'll talk to you instead of him because he's a dork and its not even his car.
First off nice hp numbers. You car looks bad ass. I have a supra it put down down 871 hp on the dyno on high boost. I don't street race because I drive for a living so I cannot afford to hurt my dmv record. I've done it before but I'd rather take it to the track where all is legal and in a safer environment.
Not sure if you want to race or not but I'm down to race at a track. If you don't want to that's cool with me. I have no idea why that foo Nathan is talking for you.

Ok you idiot Nathan you are done here. Don't post up anymore races between me and Fat Jay (Grimis). He and I have been exchanging pm's and he seems like cool dude. He and I will set up our own race by ourselves we don't need any cheerleaders swinging pom poms or running their mouths for us. Hell he had NOOOO idea that you were trying to set him up against me.
