I haven't been down in awhile and it hasn't been mentioned to much. With all the Fast Fords that we are getting around here do the LS1 guy's stand a chance?

I think they are still out there..

Now they can buy AFR LS1 heads. So imagine those w/ a nice cam.
Posted by CDT (Member # 5004) on
:
forget about AFR's now they can buy STS's

The cars are out there but not many of them are built for track duty. The majority of the fastest ones I have seen are all Bay Area "street race" cars, IE big HP but little in the way of safety devices or major traction upgrades.
I can't compete with the big boys in the Mustang world but my new lil grey truck should be able to pump a lil fear into the 10sec crowd.

I am trying to get down there. I was going to try for the all Fords race May 1st. Is the mustang madness a better race?

well numbers are a hard thing to gauge.....but with drag radials, headers and bolt ons.....one of the FSTR GM's went 12.0@119 w/a stock motor.....but that was practically stock compared to where its at now.....

...and i don't know about you guys but when i hear of "fast/quick" cars i'm automatically expecting low 11's -10's now-a-days
Posted by jayl (Member # 185) on

Should be in the range you consider "fast now a days". Only time will tell. I am still running the same set up, just added a few bolt-ons.
My brothers car trapped at 120mph not 119 if that is what you guys were thinking. Think he went into the 11's on that run.
Oh yeah all these numbers that I am talking about are ALL MOTOR just FYI!
There is also a lot of other fast LS1's out there. I'd say the LS1's are keeping up.
I think there is also going to be Chevy vs. Ford Day at Sac. Just can't remember the date, but I think it is sometime is September. On this day I think your question will be answered most accurately, but for now here is my opinion. Dam! I think this is my longest post ever!
Right on! Thanks for the info.
For me it's all in good fun out there....this is just a hobby for me

Also saw it.
RWHP in the mid 700 hundreds makes for some good MPH, even with a 6 speed!
