Should I even bother prepping the car? Think SAC will be open?
Edit: ok, so I was a month off.

The forecast says it shouldn't rain...well I'm hoping it doesn't

I'm hoping that it is open. I've already spent some time preppin my car.
Even if we can race, its not going to be the great conditions of last week

how much is it to race in sac and how many races do you get
Posted by Motorhead6T5 (Member # 4969) on
:
$40
I got there late and got 11 runs in,with a couple breaks in between. So if you line up non stop you could get alot of runs in.

I guess it's "thrash all night" for me then.

wasn't too bad out there today...ran a best of 12.9 @ 110, but had some seriously annoying problems with the shifter....couldn't get it into 4th 99% of the time, so my times were way off. Nobody really broke, except the dude with the black 03 cobra vert....sorry about the half shafts bro.

That's flying! What are your mods?

SQ trim and a lil less than a 50 shot, on a 306. Full street trim (i.e. working AC) and full interior.

Nice run John!
When I saw them spraying VHT right in front of you I figured it'd be your best pass of the day. 1.7 60ft....is that your best?
11.43 is moving!
Damnit, now I really need to 'step it up'. Can't have 2 Teal Cobra's that close in ET/MPH!

How much boost and what octane gas?

I like that track! I ran my best times yet today in the ol' green 97 Cobra. I got a 13.484 / 103.575 / 1.985 out of it today. Since I kept getting rained out at infineon, I decided to made the the longer drive out to Sac. It was worth it.

yeah I saw both of you guys in your cobra's JohnB that 93 is clean I took my coupe out today.. and it went 14.1@98mph

I lined up behind a teal Cobra that made a great run. Was that a nitrous purge after staging?
I saw that '03 break something. It was violent. The cars back end popped up about 6 inches. Hope he can get a warranty fix...
Posted by JohnB (Member # 969) on

Yup, that was my best 60'. I mustered up a 1.85 and a 1.88, but no repeats of a 1.70. Those spring/shocks/struts are doing absolutely nothing for the launch. Time to scrounge up some 70/30s and good springs.
Jeff- I'm running 10 psi and 100 octane.
Yup, it was a nitrous purge. It's my poor-mans intercooler.

Thanks guys~ I was happy with the car yesterday. No major issues (biggest was a blown header gasket on my last run) and the car was pulling like a freight train. I'll have to take a raincheck on next weekend, I'll be outta town on work.

Damn John I wonder what kind of damage you can do in the Coupe. We need to find out as soon as the motor is broken in. You probably hit some high ten's with the DR's in the back

I'm curious as well Mo! It's got about 22 miles on it so far.
