Damn, damn, damn
Ran the car this weekend in Redding and missed my 11 second N/A timeslip by .07
Ran a 12.06 w/1.66 60ft time @ 112.78 mph
Switched from Mickey Thompsons to Hoosier quick time pros, the Hoosiers make E.T. Streets look like street radials !!!
The corrected altitude was over 2500 ft most of the day and that is the best I've ever run in Redding. Just wish I could get an 11.999 on the motor in Redding so I can run 11.80's in Sac
Oh well, there is always next weekend

Next weekend we are having a points race in the morning and grudge racing at night. The track will be hooking VERY well for grudge after it cools down a bit.
You guys should come up and race, it should be VERY fun. One thing 2stangs and I have noticed is that 99% of the LS-1's up in Redding are driven by woman !! HAHAHAHA

so you're saying the QTP's hook better?
Posted by TheBrain (Member # 35) on
:
By far !!!!!!!
My best 60ft w/ET Streets was a 1.72 in Sac and a 1.77 in Redding. Very first pass on the QTP's was a 1.77 bogging with a best of 1.66 (twice)
They are also more stable on the street
Both are 27x10.50/15's

Grats man!
Redding is tough track to go fast on.
Personally I liked ther QTPs better than ET Streets also. They just seem more prone to flats though for some reason. Never seen an ET Street go flat but had 2 QTPs go flat. Weird....

Of course I did !!!
I borrowed FasterDamnit's E.T. Streets awhile back and spun the tires on the rims in 3 passes.
Ever since, I have tubed/screwed the tires to the rims.

My old little poop 302 setup went mid 1.6's consistently at Sac on ET streets on the un prepped wed night track. Maybe it has something to do with the launch

Think the driver might have something to do with it. And The Brain's car is a bit heavier than most 5.0's...
I have hit as low as 1.63 on 26 x 10.5 ET Streets. But I will be trying the QTP's when I next need tires.

ok I give up how do you hit low 1.6's on ET streets? my 11.41 was with a 1.73 60 foot I would love to be able to shave a tenth off my 60 foot.

Don't forget that SN-95's are a little heavier then most foxbodys and I know brians car has a cage and is a vert.

Practice! if you were out at the track as much as drew was when his car was running you would learn how to drive too!

nice try slow hoe it is a HP, suspension thing not a driver thing. Drew is cool and a good driver but I think I might have made a few passes down the track myself.

My setup was like this,
stock suspension, (lowered 1 inch by cutting stock springs)
3.73's
26x11.5 ET Streets
and about 300 RWHP and 3400lbs.
Nothing all that interesting really. My ET streets were really worn out by the time that my 60's got consistantlky in the 1.6's, but I don't know if thats due to practice, or just the change in new tires and worn ones.

Well, I am going to do my best to get my 60ft times into the 1.5's and get that 11 second timeslip.

I am getting some of those too, I am curious to how they end up working for you and where they work best for your car! Those things are hopefully a good "bang for your buck"

Nice to see Drew get the credit for good 60ft's.
My chassis setup- aftermarket upper and lower control arms, welded lower torque boxes, subframe connectors, no front sway bar, Moroso front drag springs, Lakewood 90/10 struts, stock rear shocks& rear springs (cut for 1" drop). 12-13psi in 26x10.5 ET Streets, 5k launch.

I read this post and it reminded me that I didn't mention that I was running my front sway bar disconnected.
