OK guys, we need 25 cars to make the CaFords vs. Norcal part of the Norcal-LS1 hosted Ford VS. GM shoot out to happen.

Please post here if you would like to represent CaFords in this race as well as PM me your best ET/MPH, or what you will be running at the time of the event. We don't want to hurt any feelings, but we can only take the fastest 25 participants for this part of the event.

Everyone is welcome to compete in the other classes of the Ford/GM shoot out.

Lets face it, things happen, cars break, etc, so even if it seems as though you are on "the bubble" of the top 25 please give us you info so that in the event that someone can't make it or has mechanical failure you may be added to fill a slot.

I'm in if we do it late march or sometime in April. I have a 96 cobra with suspention done. It has a blower with intercooler and I just spend over $9000 on my new motor.

I just have to brake her in and take her to Apex and dyno tune it. SO let me know about what date you had in mind. I would say my estimated 1/4 mile is well in the 11sec bracket. Oh ya I have a set of Drag slicks also

Hell no, we better use the Mullet ride to our advantage, it's cafords vs. norcal-ls1, those are two clubs, that has nothing to do with what car is in the club. If I count right that will now be 4 cars for us in the 9's...Good God I don't think my 12 second bottled vert will be even close to the top 25 at this rate

If I make it I'm stoked and I will run as hard as I possibly can, If I don't I will be waving the CA fords flag cheering you guys on to kick their asses. Can't wait, it should be really fun to watcheven if I don't get to participate

Thats a great attitude, but I must say. If your car is running high to mid 12's you will most likely be in the top 25. So be ready

We really have no cut off at this point due to the chance of people not being ready or broken and what not.

The officail top 25 will be decided when we get close to race day, if not, on race day. No matter if you made the top 25 or not, if you pay to race, you will get to race. CaFords vs. Norcal is only one bracket of the event, there will be many other classes to run in if you don't happen to make the top 25

Lots of 9 second cars and one that dipped into the 8's. On Norcal lot's of 11 second cars and a few in the 10's. Nobody running mid or low 9's.
We'll have some heavy hitters that haven't taken their cars to the track stay tuned.

Reading thru the posts you guys have some very quick cars for June

Traction is still an issue, but at least I'm making full passes. I won two of the four events in PSCA Heavy Street last year:) I still would like launch at more than 4 psi of boost:( Looking forward to making better runs at Sacto this year.

my uncle has a friend with an 8 second mustang......doesn't belong to CAFORDS though........can he still run?? Oh yeah, 94 v6 converted to a 426 windsor with I think like a 400-500 shot of the juice (pro fogger)and a powerglide, a parachute, and a funny car cage let me know, I'll ask him if wants to embarass some snotty kids in their camero's

If he isn't a member of eaitehr site than he can't race in the Cafords vs. Norcal part of the event. He can however race in the other classes offered that day.

I have bad news. I highly doubt my car will be ready for the event. After slapping on a new oil pan and a bunch of other bolt on parts not to mention dropping about 250 lbs of weight off the car (160 of that off then nose alone) I noticed that the counterweights on the crank are rubbing the main caps. It seems the transmission pushed forward causing the thrust bearing in the motor to crush so now the crank is moving forward and backward. Guess my stock crank experiment just proved a negative return... Oh well... The engine is getting ready to come out. All the same parts will be used, a new forged eagle crank is going in as well as 4 bolt billet main caps and a new fuel system is getting ready to go in.... The car will NOT go back to the track until it'll go 9.70ish..... Which looks to be later in the summer or I might wait for the weather and make it early fall time.... But you never know I could show hurt crank and all and hit it with a 250 shot... Crazier things have happened...

I was going to have jim do it but I don't have that much cash. I ordered the cage from wolfe craft racing and it is suppose to be hold and weld so that means I am going to ask jose dad to weld it in . He is going to make me bottle brackets also for the nitrous bottle to mount to the cage

I was going to have jim do it but I don't have that much cash. I ordered the cage from wolfe craft racing and it is suppose to be hold and weld so that means I am going to ask jose dad to weld it in . He is going to make me bottle brackets also for the nitrous bottle to mount to the cage

i ordered a wolfe rollcage yesterday

jig notched also, but mine is in chromemoly so i have to tig weld mine

good thing my welder friend is going to do it all for free

So, we are not playing by those rules. There is way more to this event then just the Norcal LS1 vs. CaFords, and that is all we care about. The part of the event we are racing in is a heads up our 25 fastest ageist their 25 fastest. I don't think anyone is reading that part. And as for the rest of the event I think the rules are OK, most head up classes look that way that is why I leaned to bracket race . I do not have the money to make a super fast heads up car.

Dude for the 10th time the rules have nothing to do with the Norcal vs CAFords race... That is just top 25 vs top 25. Thats all.

Problem with the rules for the main race are that everyone wants to bitch about them yet not 1 person has stood up and offered to help change them.

I see no reason to change the rest of the rules. Those are all heads up style categories, and I think you are never going to please anyone. Basically the person with the very best combo that has a ton of money into it, or is a factory lightweight car that is 1000lbs less then the rest will always takes the heads up stuff(not to mention reaction times). Once again that is why I bracket race, it is the only style of racing that determines if the driver is good, not rich, or willing to bring a swiss cheese race car.

This is the class that everyone keeps referring to.

Heads and Cam Class - 355, 313 CID Limit*2, No Power Adder,*3 Stock Style Suspension, Weight Reduction Allowed, must have interior with carpet and head liner *4 with accessories. Tire Up To 28x11.5W Slick, No Lexan. .500 pro Light

Lets see a 2850lbs race weight CHP Notch 308 AFR205 solid roller Victor 5.0 C4 with proper converter so on and so on. I would be much more scared of this car then any LS1/LT1 head cam 355. I think everyone is missing the point. It is a heads up class if you don't like the rules so what. From what I can see I still think the properly built Factory lightweight is going to win most every time. The car I just listed will run low 10s all day long you name me one 355 LS1/LT1 that will be able to do that without hacking up the car.

My point is lets all show up represent CAFORDS in the grudge portion of the event. Then continue on in the bracket portion or just watch. Lets not give up, and let all of our members down.

What rules???? There are none except being fast.

Sorry if I came across dick like but man after reading the posts with people complaining about the rules without knowing the full extent of AND not having anyone step up to help Brandon correct them I was angry. So is this $65 for both events or just the CaFords vs. Norcal event? Is that one a bracket race as opposed to the GM vs. Ford race on the same day? Can someone lay out a schedule for both events? I could not make it to Sac before 10:00AM, is that a problem? Anyone?

The $65 buys you your tech card and 1 class entry in the main event. The CAford vs Norcal race doesn't cost extra or anything. We are just running it in between the normal event.

Have you checked out the website for an event schedule? I am not running the thing so I have not kept up with it much. I just know when I gotta be there to help. LOL

No that isnt a problem, The 65 covers the morning event and the lunch and shit. we are gonna start running about 9:00-9:30 or so, so 10 shouldn be a problem. it looks liek we will have way more than just 2 time runs for all classes. 95% of all the tech issues will be "handeld" so it looks liek it will be a fun event

I am curious when this will be all over i am coming out to watch but at 5pm my bestfriend is having a grad party (he just grad from college) at 5pm and i might ride with a driver and my dad but i am worried i won't make it home until 10ish like i normally do
