Car only ran 107mph when I first got there. So much for the dyno tune yesterday. After some retuning and removing "The Air Adjuster" from in between my MAF and EECIV, got back into the 113's. Thanks to some great coaching from bunchmyfunky, I finally had a decent launch on the next to to the last run. Thanks, bud.

60ft- 1.67

1/8th- 7.65 @ 90.61

1/4- [worship] 11.990 @ 113.964 !!!!!!!!!!

and that is w/ Ponies up front- no skinnies. (and A/c, P/S. PW/PDL, smog pump, etc. still in place.) Removed front sway bar, Dyna-Batt (actually, the original Genesis battery the gets renamed Dyna Batt), electric fan, short belt. Typhoon intake instead of the cut up and ported Cobra.

Maybe Mark will give his impressions of the last few runs from trackside. Thanks again!

I think the mph is there for a tenth or so less ET... [Eek!]

Good job man! It was just a matter of time. I had a suspicion the air adjuster was causing problems, I thought we discussed bypassing it...in fact I thought you did at the dyno.

Anyway, let's do a writeup on that POS.
Talk to you more at work about it.

later!

Congrats Jim!
Too bad I took off early, I would have loved to see that run!

Hopefully in a few weeks I'll have the drivetrain bugs on 91PONY worked out & we'll get another shot at an 11 second timeslip. [patriot]

Posted by FasterDamnit (Member # 442) on :

Tranny OK?
The lights were having isues at the end, so no numbers were coming up on the big boards. You had to wait and see the timeslip to know what anyone ran. [Roll Eyes]

Well that sucks! Having the # show up on the big board for the world to see is part of the thrill! I guess you'll just have to join us at the track in a few weeks to back up that awesome run. [Big Grin]

Haven't touched the car yet....but it seems promissing. The tranny shifted/felt perfectly fine the entire way home.

Damn it Jim and I wasn't there!!!!!!!!! I was suppose to stand next to your door and tell you how damn good you were gona do on the run just like in Palmdale. Oh well I will do it next week so you can back that time slip up!!!

It's OK Frank. Mark wouldn't let me stop and cool the car. He kept waving me off of the pits and telling me to launch better! Then he didn'yt tell me I had run an 11. He just said "Do what you just did." [Big Grin]

Yup. Worked on the dyno. Sucked at the track. Life was better w/out the Air Adjuster. [Big Grin]

When i have talked to sam at GSR he is VERY specfic. for the extender to work correctly set f/p at 38-40 with no vac and then do all the a/r changes with the extender. call me when you get a chance i think i know why the two didnt work togeather

My car is nothing w/o traction. Not to mention it is untuned and has a stock rev limiter. Motor vs motor and DR vs ET street, you would most likely beat me.

I can't set the FP that high. The Extender does not control A/F below 4500rpm. W/ 32psi it works very well across the entire rpm range. The ratio changes very linearily when using the adjustment pot. The air adjuster simply moves the MAF response curve up or down. At least, that is supposed to be what happens. The last place digit on it's display was flickering on and off so I suspect a glitch.

Posted by jmcclesk (Member # 1355) on :

what do you set f/p it and is that with or without the vac hooked up?? I relize that the extender only works from (3500) 94-95 units and 4500 88-93 If you send it in to sam he can move the cut in point on the 88-93 down to 3500.

to me it looks like bassani, my friends looks just like that...

Posted by st5150 (Member # 51) on :

Yup, both the '03 Cobra's had Bassani cat back, X pipe and a cold air kit. Two identical modded cars with the same options, 500 miles apart in milage, and bought with in one month of eachother happened to be at the same track at the same time [Eek!]
