Well, I know there are quiet a few people on this board who have been working hard to get there cars up and going. What has everyone been doing and what times can we be expecting?
And most importantly, when will we be seeing them?
(Just trying to get the Drag Racing forum a little playsince we haven't been having good enough weather to actaully drag race!)

HMMMMMMM I know this one guy that is doing a pretty sweet little set-up;
306cid
S-trim(12lb boost)
RPM intake
Twisted wedge heads
B-31 cam
power pipe
3:73's
ETC. ETC.
The only thing is, he has been trying to save money to buy another car to put that engine. Hopefully it will be around sometime this spring. Hoping to get a 124mph out of it and he might be able to just kiss the 500mark??????

Well,
I have couple of minor mods that I hope will be worth about .15 sec's when combined w/ some cold air.
Then- it's blower time! (so I can keep up w/ your skinny ass..)
edit: and Frank's!

I know I dont have anything big, but my goal for next season is to be in the 13s. I was at 14.18 in october and am looking at getting a set of drag radials to get me closer. U guys think I can make it to the 13s with a set of DRs? My 60' was usually around 2.2

Dropping your 60ft times down to a solid 2.0 will get you into the 13's with easy. A 2.0 60ft should be easy for you to accomplish with some pratice, or you could just get lucky

Yeah I'll be trying my new setup tomorrow. New rear tire, chain, and sprockets. Went from a 48 to a 49 in the rear, LOL. At least if I can't stay in front of someone now, I will better be able to fend them of with the 450 thumper roost.

I'm considering new pickups for my setup. Maybe a new amp as well, my current gear sounds too compressed. Oh we're talking about cars? I only have "the garage mod" planned for 2007. Garage mod = actually owning a house so I have a garage to put the 'stang in. Very important mod.

Im be coming up with a new setup hopefully around spring-time. Just a h/c/i that will hopefully put me in the mid-12's with slicks ... Then maybe blower time in the summer , well see how things pan out.

well im hopin to have my 88 coupe runnin by early summer, complete by next christmas
for summer i plan on the motor tranny and some suspension, plus the nitrous ofcourse
427w 10:1,
afr205's with a little bit of smoothing, plus portmatched to intake and headers
1 7/8 kooks full length, dr gas 3" X, ultraflows dumped
chp spyder intake based on victor jr., portmatch to heads with light smoothing towards the heads
90mm tb, no maf, more explanation later
FTI custom solid roller, .664/.665 250/258 @.05, 114
electric waterpump, no PS, just a alternator
lightweight k member, a arms, F/R coil overs, MM lowers, baseline 4 link uppers, anit roll bar
built axle and built tko, maybe proshifted
plus an accel dfi gen7 with wideband O2 and dual sync so i can run sequential
Nitrous express 50-150 kit plus all the goodies duh
shooting for mid 10's by then end of summer on a 50 shot, then i will eventually do a 4 bolt main conversion and put in a main girdle so i can up the shot to 150, then in aq year or two once i can get the driving down i want a 9.99 at sac and then one at sears, then see how fast i can go on motor since i got banned since my car will never have more than a 6 point cage
well i have the power, i have the suspension, but so i have the driving skills, NOT YET , but in time

This is still the best mod I have EVER made !!!
As for my car, Not major mods planned
Although I am looking into a total front suspension upgrade and maybe gutting the SH*T out of the car
Made a few minor mods recently and just waiting for the weather and my schedule to cooperate
The only to mods I haven't run with yet are:
Detroit locker
FRPP 4.10s
Hoping to run 12.1 - 12.2's on the motor and a little faster on the bottle

My new setup is almost done, just a couple minors details to work out. I took 1 pass the other night at 1/4 throttle....
2.8 60ft
14.8et
100mph
Can't wait to get a wastegate and headstuds so I can FLOOR IT and use all 200psi of boost. And the best part it I am still getting 18.5 mpg in the city and 26mpg on the freeway.

For an 'old' setup, you sure have bought a lot of new stuff! LOL
The next mod for mine will probably be a power pipe. That is, if Shaun will let me have some $$$....LOL

We a whole new combo being put together! I am fed up with the nitrous combo! I am putting a 417ci turbo motor, 101mm Turbo. Moving up to Outlaw class in PSCA. I had to many headaches with nitrous. It is time to make some serious power. We are confedent we will be running in the 7.40 range with a conservative tune up. Car should be completed for the first race of the PSCA season, Feb 6-8th. Motor is done just in the proccess of getting the stainless work done and mounting all the other Misc. things that go with the turbo. I can't wait to get this thing out to the track!

If you don't want to post them feel free to use the PM feature
edit: and if you wan to count that as daily driving, I start mine and back it out of the garage everyday, so I think that should count as a daily driver also

My 69 Camaro should be up and running hopefully by mid January. Its a 408 stroker with AFR 195's.
Cam/compression is pretty mild cause I really want this sucker to be a driver and hopefully do some Power Tours. Still should be good for low 12's to high 11's on pump 91 and 3.42's if all goes as planned.

I put in a new tranny and stall, electric water pump on the way. Also had 2 broken valve springs. Looking for a 9.9 on motor, might have to take out some weight to get there (3400) with driver. Then I will crack open the bottle.

I'm hoping to have the coupe running by the end of March. Right now it is getting the mid and motor plate for the small block chevy, lexan windows, fiberglass doors, fiberglass decklid, alston steering column, window net, brakes and lines for brakes, and cross member done...
After this is done, car may be going to LA to get the headers done and will be getting wired shortly thereafter. Hope my lil coupe can hit a 9.75 @ 136-137 on the motor with 4.56 gears and a 4500 - 5k stall...
we'll see...

my new setup PROJECT TURD! aka WASFAST will be out and running in january. Hope to run low 13's on motor and then a little 75 shot. My cam is lift is a little bigger and has more duration than your cam does, nothing really worth mentioning though, I will tell you it favors the exhaust a bit though I got to keep some secrets, the only person entrusted with my cams actuall specs are Camara90, 93pony, and my engine builder! Well and Rick Anderson and Ed Curtis who helped me out a bit to of course! And yes it will be daily driven a grand total of 2.1 miles to work and 4 miles to school almost every day! We still on for that run when we get our cars running again? With my N20 turned off of course!

Dyno numbers? When will we be seeing it at the track?
besides all the shit I have for it, I also have a set of slicks and NOS kit that I will take off my 92.. so it will be at sac raceway the first night possible...
As far as dyno, I will dyno it ASAP. If anyone has a hook up let me know.
There wont be a night race until Febuary. Come out to a TNT on a saturday morning, (if its ever good weather on a saturday )

Mine should be running and ready for a re-tune by the end of Jan. New motor should be here any day, and Drew, yes lots of T-5 deaths in the future, mine included. I'm still planning on the G-Force, but I'm not too sure about the dog-ringed one, they're both supposed to be good for 600 hp. We'll see. I'll be upping the boost too. I need to start addressing traction as well.
HAHA- Eric, I knew you would do something to that Mach 1 eventually.

I built the G force synchro kit for mine and it is very street friendly. Very strong gears, my Vortech V2-SQ and powerpipe shows up tues so I will be putting it to a real test shortly

Keep us updated. Have you tried to powershift? I am considering the dog-ring setup so I can beat the snot out of it at the track.

yes I have power shifted it. It shifts sweet. I imagine just as good as a normal T-5. I don't have enough HP to hurt it yet.

Cool. I wiped out the synchro's in my T5Z after about 2 1/2 years and only around 15k miles. Maybe 50-60 passes w/ balls out power shifts.

Yeah Jeff, what's up with that big ass hole back there!
Posted by Jeff S (Member # 371) on

The brace going across the shock towers is what the rear x-bars will attach to instead of the floor(roll cage).
The hole is from cutting out the spare-tire well. It should look real nice once the flat plate is welded in.

Nice! was it pretty easy to do on the truck. I have always had the thought of putting a bigger cam in my truck but never did it cause it wasn't a hudge priority on the list.
