How much does it cost to get a convertible up to safety code in order to drag it?

Is it faster than a 14.00?

Any convertible that runs faster than 14:00 needs a 4 point roll bar. I ran a 13.88 @100 mph my 01 Cobra at sears point a few months back and as soon as the lady in the out house gave me my time slip, she said I was done for the night. I just slipped in a set of Hooker long tubes and I will throw in a set Steeda pullies and see how much faster I can go before the saftey clowns tell me to stop running. It's cheaper than making a dyno run [Wink]

14s you have to wear a helmet, 13s you need a 4 point roll cage, 12s you need a 6 point rollcage and helmet, 11s you need a 6 point cage, helmet, racing harness.

I could be wrong though

Here are the REAL rules on 'verts

13.99 - 11.00: 5 point roll-bar is required (same as a 6 point without the passenger bar which is optional)
13.99 and lower: SFI approved 5 point racing harness is required (any time a rollbar is required, so is the restraint system)
'verts running 10.99 and faster require a FULL NHRA certified rollcage and all the other stuff the 9.99 running hardtops require

So far, with my rollbar, and safety harness, I have spent about $800 (and added 80lbs) more than the other guys (you know who you are) that won't need to deal with it until (or if [Wink] ) they hit the 11's
