All right, 6 runs. 1st 3 against LS1's (prolly on street tires) and 2 against vintage Camaro's, 1 single run. 5 wins. On Nitto's (American Racer went flat waiting for tech.)
Run 1
Him
.939 RT
2.276 60 ft
13.775 at 104.875
Me
.730
2.092
12.868 at 110.154
Run 2 (hot lap)
Him
.824
2.213
13.248 at 108.903
Me
.504 (where the hell did that come from?)
1.997
12.803 at 109.744
Run 3
Him
.709
2.086
13.004 at 109.664
Me
.850
1.779
12.424 at 110.699
Run 4 (mid 70's Camaro- ran 15's)
Me
.676
2.002
12.711 at 110.473
Run 5 (after clean up of oil slick in my lane)
Him (beautiful '73 SS350 Camaro, 383stroker, purple/white stripes)
.602
2.140
13.241 at 107.069
Me
.680
2.312 (hooked, then spun, hit rev limiter)
13.147 at 109.767 (spun on the 3-4 shift)
Increased fuel pressure for last run, from 36 to 38 psi.
Run 6
.634
2.055 (decided to power shift for mph)
12.845 at 109.925
Seems to like 36 better. If I can learn how to consistently slip the clutch on the launch I can hit 1.7 60ft's on the Nitto's. Ran them at 17psi w/ looong burnouts.
Got to drive home in a group of LS1's. Mucho fun!
Finally, Drew- hope you enjoyed your 24 hours w/ the belt!

Correction-
Three days! Yeah, I don't think I will be building any strokers anytime soon. I want 12.0's then make the '65 the serious race car.

Sweet deal. Only 1 MPH/0.1 seconds from the cam thought? Maybe its too small for those heads? Do I hear a TFS Stage 2 coming on before you go custom? You can make it into a 4 part test... Stock... mild aftermarket, medium aftermarket and wild custom cam
As for a 12.0.... why not drain your washer fluid and make it a 11.999

:
1.55mph. ET will drop if I get new tires or learn to drive on the Nitto's...
The car has the power to go low 1.7's if not a 1.6x 60 ft.
I hope to do a dyno tune soon and maybe find some more mph. Still haven't played w/ timing.
edit- 11.x means roll bar, not gonna do it.

Glad I didn't have to run ya. You would have added my Vette to your LS1 kill list and not just Maros!

Thanks, guys!
I want to send condolences to Brandon for breaking his newly installed rear end. Would have been a good race if we had lined up.

Posted by shade-tree (Member # 298) on

I'd say around ~0.5 mph and maybe 0.05 in ET.

Thanks, Dan. It's nice to see the lack of BS from the LS1 gang in their posts. Whatever happened to being mortal enemies? Oh- right, the smack talkin' ricers have given us a common foe...
I like running faster cars- tend to shift faster trying to keep up. I suppose there are a lot of things I could do to run deep into the 11's, the heads are o-ringed and the pistons forged. I just can't see putting a cage in this car. Still ferry the kids around daily, even tho they now complain about how loud it is a 2000rpm. Guess that's why we have more than one fast car...

JL, I give prop's where their due. I have no hatred for Stang's, I used to own one . The ricer's are another story .
I know what ya mean about a cage and the rest of the safety equipment, I don't have it either and been procrastinating getting it cause this is my daily driver still. But, I'm not gonna slow down at the track, I will do the cage or they can keep booting me, That's really my choices...
