I always Drive 60 - 70 min to go to Sac, even though I'm 15 min from sears. Been going to sac since 1999, Went back to sears 2X this season and HATED it! Unorganized staffing (it was early season) and a freakin headwind that was peeling my eyelids open! My vote is... Sacramento! (in case you didn't figure it out)What are your Sears Point (or sac) horror stories?
Sears-
Sac-
Sac when I win a trophy-

Yes I also like sacramento a lot better than Sears. I just like the way that its set up and the way that its ran as well as the type of people and racers that go there.

Sac by far. I always get better traction there. Plus it has that old school just kick back and enjoy the races feel about the place. I love that.

I have only run sears twice. Once at an et bracket event and once on a wednesday. I'm pretty sure the head wind pushed me out of the staging lights into the pre stage on one pass. My vote would be for sacramento, the fact that it is 1.5 hrs closer for me and they run 2-3 days a week is also nice.

For wringing your car out, nothing beats Sac test n tune around here.
For the wed. night thing, I suppose I prefer Sears as a 1 hour drive each way is preferable to a 2 hour drive each way and plus with traffic, throw in another hour if you're talking about Sac. If you have to work past 1 pm or so on wed., forget about making it to Sac on a wed.

i would definetly have to say sacto raceway i have always gone my fastest there i ran a 14.5 on street tires and at sears on dr's i couldnt muster anything better than a 14.7. so my vote is for SAC all the way.

I say Sac. even though its taken me once more than 2 hours to get there. The setup is good and you can get real close to the staging area. At Sears it seems like you can't go beyond the staging area to watch and the wind blowing at the cars sucks

I haven't been to sears since they have changed the track, but I figured that even though it was not prepped as well, as sac, the cooler air compensated for it. I think Sac is better over all but it just gets too damn hot! Plus, I don't know if anyone noticed, but as soon as the fast and furious came out both tracks have been filled by imports! I remember that wedns. at Sac, the staging lane, went down the return road into the parking lot! And that really sucked!
Does anyone know how the road coarse is now at sears? Better or worse?

I don't think anyone will argue that Sears Point is a GREAT GREAT RACEWAY...

I've only raced at sac so far (14 runs)...but if Sears Point is any worse, I might have to sell my car after I cry myself to sleep. Maybe I'm the only one who's heard of this mystical thing call "track-prep"
I've heard bad things about the wind at Sears Point...so that could be a big drawback...but it can't hook up any worse, can it? I mean come on, the have national top fuel drags there. Perhaps the wheelie cars in Sac need more hook off the line than John Force...who knows?

I'd have to say Sac also. Even though I got kicked out the last time I was there (not enough safety equipment) and it takes 2 hours on a good day to get there (took 5 hours on Memorial weekend) and Sears is 45 minutes. Nice folks at Sac and you don't have that hurricane headwind like at Sears. Haven't been to Sears since the redo so maybe it is better now....and maybe not.
