Had a great night at Sac. Ran new best mph but traction still an issue. Hit a 2.08 60 ft, ran 13.0. Went 3 rounds and was tree'd. The good part was new best mph! I installed a 2 1/2" offroad h-pipe on Sun. Now the quiz-
What is an h-pipe worth in mph?
I ran a 106.35mph last week thru the mufflers and a previuos best of 106.9mph thru the stock h-pipe and no mufflers. All conditions were nearly identical this week compared to last week. Today I ran thru the stock mufflers.
So, if all else is equal, how much gain would you expect?
Drew ran well- I really need to get some ET Streets...

I would guess 1.3 mph. Looks like your dialing it in for the grudge night.

I dunno, mph tends to go up with less hook, maybe compare it on runs with equal 60's? otherwise I'd guess 0.5-1.0 mph. I think the stock H-pipe vs. a off-road H usually is dyno proven at around 5 hp on a stocker.

The answer is .............calculating...........
NOT ENOUGH!!!!!! LOL

108.375
108.383
108.619!!!!!!!
Remember, last week the 106.35 was w/ same or even a little worse 60 ft.'s. 2.3mph and still using stock mufflers, stock cam. One awkward yet fast combo...

Wow Jim that is some serious bang for your buck. A fan might get you up to 109, and its still summer.

Didn't you tell me 2mph, Scott? I sure didn't believe it. Have to go on a business trip for 5 days starting tomorrow. Fan might happen next month. Or maybe mufflers. Hope I can make the 3rd...

Those were some good runs Jim! Keep it up and I'm going to have a lot of trouble catching you on the top end!....lol
Now on to a not so happy subject....I SMOKED MY REAREND! Its gone, toast, finished, etc.
Time to spend more money on stuff thats not going to make the car any faster! I'm most likely not going to be racing on the 3rd anymore. But of course I'll be there with the BBQ

That sucks, Drew. Burned the tracloc or actually busted the gear/pinion? My gears and tracloc are fresh w/ extra clutches and F150 S spring- I hope it lasts...
Off to Sweden, Skoal!

Damn Drew, did I jinx you after telling you that I busted my rearend? I busted a couple of the ring bolts loose, and that beat around and tore up my traction loc, looks like it might be down for a while. (until I can get some money to fix it)

Whatever
Jim, It's NOT the tires, I think it's the operator error.
I have gotten a best 60ft on the 245/50/16 Nittos of 1.74.
I know that your are going to say something about my motor having more power/torque etc... But my car weighs at least 300-350lbs more than yours !!
If you got your 1.79 on my E.T drags (my best on those tires is a 1.68) your only .11 slower 60ft
So doing the math, a 1.85 on your Nittos should be completely fesible. And yes, that was with a T-5z AND 3.73's just like yours
It all has to do with tire speed, a bit of spinning is WAY BETTER than ANY amount of bog !!!
If you look at the video of my car pulling the front tires off the ground, you will see that my tires spuns about 3 times and flat HOOKED.
Rev that bitch up to 4500 or so and let 'er rip.

Hey Brian...
case in point... on your bald ass nittos, I got a 1.75 and 1.76 60ft. It is harder to get them to work, but it can be done. Patience danielson, patience.
