As long as I get there before it sells out I will be at sears point tonite. Maybe I will see some of you there. Send me an email at Dhilarious@yahoo.com if anyone wants to meet up. Oh I don't have a mustang as you can already figure.

Ok, I went to sears point today and went in the V8 (street) class rather than the 4 banger class. The guy checking my car said "you want to go with the ricers or the V8's?, your car can do the #'s when it was new, you have 143K" I said "yes put me with the domestics"
I lost my timeslip on my test run but I ran a 3.5 60 and a 16.7X 1/4. I went to launch and messed up my boost real bad and literally paused for a whole second before I moved, then I was could not get above 3K rpm (my boost f*cked up).
The guy in the Z28 ahead of me said "what did you do?" when I told him he gave me a "ricer" grin. I said "I screwed up, no excuses"
My next run which was in the brackets I was against a 67 mustang (I talked to him after). I took off faster than I ever did in the past. I literally left him light years behind me. I put a dial of 14.5 , cause this is only my second time at the track and I am learning how to drive the 1/4. Not only did I beat the mustang , but I did a 13.63 @104.83. Now I am happy with that because ITs my 2nd time running the car, and its with my crappy daytona tires (threadwear 300 whatever that means).
I can say for certain I will be in the 12's very soon. Here is my complete timeslip.
R/T .52 <<<<<<<<I always do .52 or better 60 2.22 <<<<<<<<<I can still improve this 330 5.939 1/8 8.910 @ 884.16 1000 11.47 1/4 13.63 @ 104.83.
I was eliminated cause I did better than my Dial time of 14.5.
Mods are in signature. I also went with no spare tire and with only 1/4 tank gas.
I am not complaining at all. VERY Happy!! My new clutch helped alot!

I should point out that the mustang I raced ran a 13.71 @ 100.84, so it was only a 10 second difference, I am not sure when he took off, cause he was really behind me, not sure how it was only 10 seconds, though. He was really cool, we talked a bit after.
thanks for humoring me!

I'm fairly new to drag racing... I.e. I haven't raced at a drag strip... a ton on the street but how how do you set a dial in time?? what are the requirements for racing in the street class... What are the different classes. I know that at sears point you race on wednesday nights?? any other nights? and how does a person get in line to race? How many times do you get to run? I have a restricted liscense now, but I will get my regular liscense back in late september. and will want to take my 99 vert to the track to see what I can do. I blew my last engine and have only K&N and exhaust... will follow with more mods but have to save up...
