I finally cracked the 13s.

14degree of timing
60ft ET mph
2.12 13.97 99.5
2.15 13.99 99.7

Heres where things go wrong. I added 1 gallon of 100 octane to the 1/8 of tank of 91 set the timing to 16 degree=NO F'ing Traction car was very torquey.
60ft ET mph
2.33 14.49 99.3
2.39 14.69 98
2.26 14.2 99.4 Dropped the tire pressure 8lbs.

With the timing at 16degrees and if I can get my street tires to hook I think it could run in the 13.7s. If I put some nittos on good driving 13.5/6?

congrats bro, and nice meeting you today
I was in Black 91GT... I sucked at getting traction...

Alright, welcome to the stock motored 13 second club.

AKTIO- what mods do you have and what times did you run?

Mark- glad to see the drop in tire pressure helped at least a little bit. Ever try and heat them up? Might stick better after a little friction induced heat. Some radials respond to light burn-outs, some don't. Hope to see you Wed. night!
AKTIO, same advice (as we discussed)- that and practice-practice-practice. ( Or spend the money on sticky tires...)

st5150>>> I got exhaust (header, H-pipe, 2chamber, pulley, king cobra clutch, and 3.73... )that is about it, when I had 2.73, I ran 14.8,,, then got 3.73 3 weeks ago, tried it yesterday, I just could not get traction... the best was 15.1... sucks & embarassing... I guess I really have to practice to get the traction and not spin at all...

Thanx Jim, I will go back to the track to practice more, I think my driving is really bad.. oh well, learning..

AKTIO,
I also "kinda" met you yesterday, (kinda since Jim and Mark didn't introduce us, Thanks guys ) My car is the Blue 89 'vert.
Don't be hard on yourself !!! Practice is the key. My very first time to the track I pulled off a 15.645 w/2.779 60ft !!!!
Followed a few minutes later by a 15.667 w/2.667 60ft !!!! After about 15 runs, I had gotten down to 2.2xx 60ft times on street tires. Then with a set of drag radials I got down to the 1.9 range and with a bit more practice 1.7's
It's all about "seat" time and practice (sticky tires don't hurt either )

See you at the track
Brian

AKTIO, it was nice meeting you, are you going on Wednesday?

Jim, I did longer burnouts this time then I have in the past. I wanted to see if it helped. But when I did it felt like it was slicker. Time for DR's

TORQUEPIMP, I didn't see your car there, then again we were stuck in the staging lanes forever. I did see a couple of camaro's one had the plates hssthis and there was a black ss that got towed home not sure what happend to him though.

TheBrain>> Thanx for the advise,,, I was so depressed after the runs I had with 3.73... I thought I could get into low 14's easily, but now I know that practice and good driving makes the car go faster... not the mods..

bunchmyfunky>> wednesday, I want to make it, but gotta work til 5pm... would be too late to go.... but will come for the Saturday cruise. see ya there

later stangers

AKTIO- What were your trap speeds? Your combo sounds very similar to Fasterdamnit and mine.

The best I had was 15.1ET with 97mph.... When I had 2.72, I had the best of 14.8ET.... I guess I have to work on traction for the next time.. ... my goal
