my question is I am unable to get appt at DMV due to DMV closing re: Corona virus. This car needs to be takrn off non op, change title and hve current tags paid but car also needs to be smogged. I am unable to take car off non op in order to figure up renewal fees and registration on line. So its a catch 22. What happens ifI get pulled over driving this car which is on non op? Do you think the CHP would understand my predicament . I quess legally the car is not suppose to be driven AT ALL, but I have no other way to get to work, etc.

It will depend on the officer but most likely you will be towed.

it will get towed, and u will owe all registration fees and penalties from back to day one when it was put on non op...and reg will have to be paid before u can get it out of tow yard, but dmv is closed,so u cant do that, and tow bill will just keep going up and up,,,,per above post, rental is cheaper
