Going back to my old posts remind me of them good ol days when everyone , basically, knew everyone.

Yeah I almost broke 1000hrs of OT again this last season.
I bought a retired HMMWV the last time I broke 1000hrs from the Government. It’s a super fun vehicle to drive. It’s broken right now though. The lifter pump has failed so it’s not getting proper fuel delivery. Going to fix it in the next week or so

Changed out the heater and evap core today. Heater is finally back on my hatch for the first time since I’ve owned it and evap is waiting on me to buy my R134 conversion kit to blow ice cubes. I’ve always heard people complain about heater core jobs and honestly after doing it it’s not bad at all. The evap part was the only thing that took me a while.

Yeah me either. I’ve been offered Quite a bit of money for each of mine but I don’t know I just can’t. It’s hard to find nice foxes nowadays without having the fattest price tag with hella problems still. I guess they were right when they said these were the next big classic car.

Anyone ever order a new transmission? Do they just deliver it to your house or how does that work? I’m looking to buy the new TKX transmission for my hatch but I’m not sure if they’ll just deliver it to my house.

They should. But might be worth it to pick it up from a shipping location.
The less people handling it the better.
Also planning on going TKX in the future. The 600 version.

Ok I’ll probably just order it to the house. I was going to go with a T56 setup but everyone says they rarely even go into 6th and they’re heavier so I’m kinda giving up on that.

You go above 4.11s and want to do 80+ on the freeway. You might want a double overdrive.

I don’t want 4.11’s. I have 3.27’s right now because I bought a cobra rear and that’s what it had. Eventually I’m going back to 3.73’s or 3.55’s. My ultimate goal for this car is to be coyote swapped but for now it does what it does.

That’s dope. I hope my boy Mike won’t hate me when he has to unload my shit. Hopefully I can be out there to help him get it off the truck. Right now the trans are on backorder so I’m waiting for them to be available again.
Does anyone know where you can get discount on MM parts? I want a panhard bar because my car kicks out hard when I get on it and some lower control arms.

The Modern Driveline website says 6-8 weeks if you place your order now. They're who I used for my TKO. I bought the entire package with clutch, Quicktime bell housing, etc. . . Excellent service.
I'd like to get in on an MM discount too. The last thing I need to complete the suspension are rear coilovers. Someday, I'll pull the trigger.

To be honest bro I don’t like ordering stuff on backorder. I always end up in some shit so I just only like to order stuff in stock. Yeah I’ll probably look into a whole package deal type so I don’t have to piece the stuff. But I think I might be able to use a stock bell housing in the mean time. I’m not entirely sure tho. Yeah MM don’t play with their prices but their shit is legit. I run the full front MM setup and man it handles like a go kart I swear you can’t feel the weight transfer when turning it’s like planted.

I totally understand where you're coming from, though after working with MD, I wouldn't hesitate to put a deposit down with them for a transmission.
I've got pretty much every thing MM offers on my car, including panhard and torque arm. Just still running their springs in the back. Hell, I even had my Vortech discharge tube customized to fit the strut tower brace. It handles like a dream. Far better than my previous two foxes. My first even had the basic Racecraft package. Which was crap, but boy was I proud to have it! lol

I’ll look into it. Someone told me some company Midwest might have them in stock.
Yeah I’ve honestly never driven a fox with a panhard bar setup but my boy with a coyote swap said his car pulls straight now with it. Mine kicks pretty good right now so I gotta do a little bit of “driving” to stay straight. Where did you get your vortex tube made? My CAI hits my strut tower bar so that’s why I don’t run it but I might be deleting my egr so I MIGHT clear it now but I’m not sure.

Brad at American Iron did the charge pipe. Nothing fancy, just a dip in the tube to clear the brace. All smooth on the inside, but it does cut into the diameter of the pipe. I can't imagine that it's an issue on the charged side though.

I’ve been leaning towards this myself. I was stuck on coyote swap for so long but I’ve been comparing the price differences and advantages/disadvantages. I love what coyotes do and can pull up to but I’m a person who never leaves shit alone. The space you have left to work on a swapped car is very little and that bothers me but they’re pretty damn reliable and make way more MPG’s. But on the other hand on a 427 I can do pretty much anything to that motor myself at any time with ease. If I do 427 I’ll be able to do my trans and rearend to support it for the same cost it would be for me to do a stock coyote swap.

How much of a concern is MPG to you? Is it going to be a daily? At 5-600 hp, you're not going to have the greatest mileage either way.
I don't see why a new 427 wouldn't be reliable. With good parts, it will be indestructible.

I’m not too concerned but I plan on driving it pretty often as I can just don’t wanna have to fill up 3 times a weekend. Honestly I was planning on making quite a bit more than 5-600rwhp. I kinda wanna shoot for around 4 digits. I know it should be indestructible but from my experience super modified cars aren’t that reliable, especially when you drive them like I do. BUT now I run on a Holley system and I think that should help some. I’m in no rush right now but I’ve been really considering pulling the trigger.

I guess I don't know enough about the coyote motor. Are they good for 4 digit horsepower? Even with a Dart, you'd need to step up to an Iron Eagle block.
Also, at 1000+ HP, you're going to be filling up all weekend!

Well I wasn’t just going to stuff any coyote in there. I was going to have it sleeved and built to handle everything you can throw at it. Dart I was going with a iron eagle. Like I said I’m in no rush right right now but it’s something I’m considering because I can still sell my setup I have now for ok money because it’s all low mile stuff. Just on the fence with things.

Haha you’re right. A guy on a 4 eye page I’m on claims to be making 1000+ on a 331 which is even cheaper for me since I don’t have to buy the extra 351 stuff. My intake and heads should be good enough right now. I’m glad these are just ideas right now because I can’t make up my mind on what route.

I want at least 700 to the wheels. Is it cheaper having these local shops build it or order it off one of these engine builders online? I kinda blew my motor I have now so I kinda wanna start looking more into building this thing foreals.

Those SHP short blocks seem to be a good deal. I know the YouTube channel Richard Holder has used both the 363 & 427 short blocks and made over 1000 with both. If I had the cash. I'd go SHP route. But I'm working on a budget 351w right now for the fastback.

After looking into this more and more. I see a lot of people make 4 digits on the shp blocks which is almost $1000 cheaper. It’ll be cheaper for me to go the 363 route because I can use everything I have right now minus the cam. One of these days I might just pull the trigger.

Summit racing is up in Sparks, Nevada the town over from Reno. Yesterday I found out my motor is still good on my hatch. It went super lean on me and backfired like no tomorrow after I did a hard pull against a coyote on the freeway. I’m planning on going back to summit racing again soon to pick up a TKX transmission. I didn’t do it last week because I thought my motor might of been bad.

I seen their kit but I didn’t really like the kit for some reason. I ended up buying 40’ of -6 PFTE line, a bunch of fittings, -6 aeromotive 10 micron filter, and a Holley 525 drop in pump with the an o ring fittings on top. I also bought the aeromotive fuel pump wiring upgrade. I’ve never made an lines so hopefully they don’t leak.

Hey Nate , I am still working on my mustang. Rear IRS suspension work next. It was down for a year to get the clutch figured out. Now I have a McLeod RXT twin disc. It was worth the money because it works so Damn good. I finally passed the Calif Smog check at the referee. Then I put some 101 race gas in my tank, now I am back to 91 octane and I realize how 91 octane really isn’t that good but it’s all we got! My car is 03 cobra swap built by me.

I did run some Ford Performance 60lb when i had a upper pulley on my cobra, I also had a SCT MAF 2800. The car needed to be custom tuned to run on pump gas. After the tune I had 460hp at the wheels even with some low fuel pressure problem I had at high RPM. I could really feel how much more power I had with them.
And I got a short ride in Ruthless SVT’s silver 10th coupe … fresh off the dyno at AOP and it had a whipple 3.4 and running on e85 I think. It was so fast I was very impressed with the power that car made. It really did seem like too much power for the streets. I think he was running the ID1000’s for injectors , this was a while ago maybe 2009-2010. That cobra had 750hp to the wheels.

I found some new age injectors on Holley site. I think I might run with them because everyone seems to love them and are half the price of ID’s. I never knew I had to run a flex fuel sensor so now I gotta do a little bit of research on that.

I'd honestly be happy in the 800's. Sure the stock block might be enough but I feel like it would be on borrowed time. A dart block I'll probably never have to swap out just a one and done.

I don’t race at the track as I don’t have any safety equipment nor do I plan on putting any. Street racing is dead around here so I would say that’s perfectly fine for me to have fun driving around on the weekends.

I knew there was some of y’all lurking in the shadows. Address on the flyer is:
16784 W. Grant Line Rd.
Tracy, CA 95391
From 12PM- 5PM

What valve springs on the GT40P heads? What size injectors? How many pounds of boost? Iron GT40P heads will not allow a large quantity of boost. Share the timing curve your tuner gives you.

Lol I do not run those parts. I have decent money invested in my motor. Too much for a rebuilt 302 to be honest but oh well it is what it is. I’ve never ran my blower but guy I bought it from said he was seeing 12 lbs on the current pulley. I don’t have a tuner. Yet. My boy told me where I can get my car tuned since I run the Holley system. As of right now dude doesn’t know me or my car exists. Once I’m ready I will contact him.

I can relate. I have the old license plate number of a car. Do any of you know how to get its VIN number? The DMV says it is no longer in their system.

Anyone ever buy the R-134 A/C kit on LMR? I'm thinking about buying it for my hatch since I want my A/C back on. I just don't know if I should go this route or that Makers Garage A/C kit since I'm running a Holley system on the car.

I believe that's his name on IG. He's from another state but I see a lot of people buy kits from him.

What's the IG name? It can't be. http://Makers-Garage.com
The any kit that uses rebuilt factory Nippondenso 6P148A compressors is good. Modern rebuilds are customarily painted black.

SO I made a mistake and bought a SN95. For what reason? I couldn't tell you but it's my first SN95 and 2V and I'm not impressed. I prefer my shitbox foxes for sure. lol

Show us pictures of your SN95. It needs 3.92:1 rear end gears.
Posted by NEIGHT (Member # 8741) on

It’s nothing pretty to look at. It’s a bone stock super oxidized laser red SN95 with black interior and flo fit seats. I drove it for about an hour yesterday and fuck are my shocks/struts bad. I was bouncing like a mf. Lmao I’m cleaning it up today and tomorrow and doing a tune up and selling it. Maybe I’ll try a new edge this next round.
Posted by throttlepositionsensor (Member # 14838) on

A new edge will be faster. A 94 to 95 5.0 will be familiar to you under the hood. After 1993 these cars were made better, but heavy.
Posted by NEIGHT (Member # 8741) on

I was aiming for a 94/95 but people kept beating me to the cars(they don’t last a day online). I do however like the exhaust sound the 2V has in the low-mid 2k rpm’s.

What places do you use to find cars?
Posted by NEIGHT (Member # 8741) on
:
I found this one on Facebook market, but I check every used car site pretty much from sac to la. I’ve been searching for a while for pretty much any decent 5-speed 86-04 mustang under $4k. One thing I noticed is you have to set guidelines of what you’re willing to accept and what are for sure passes so when you see an add you know right away if that’s something you’re looking for or not because you have to jump on these cars. If they’re decent and with that price range they will be gone the same day they’re posted most the time unless they don’t have titles. I say the having titles because I swear most these mustangs that are for sale never have titles it’s always “I lost it. That’s how I got it, I never planned on registering it so I didn’t care about the title”

Anywhere they sell used cars…. That’s what I’m assuming but it’s not my job or business to find out so I just move on to the next. Apparently my car isn’t laser red it’s paint code E8 so Rio red/vermillion red is what I see online they call it

Maybe you seen my silver new edge on Facebook marketplace. 2000 Mustang GT premium 104k miles, lblack leather interior minor wear and tear no rips or seams splitting. $3500. Possibly $3-$4k in parts to sell. It’s a good part out car to build back stock and sell to 7-8k. I just don’t have the time or patience to sit on parts or remove everything and install motor, transmission and fuel tank.
Non-op (300 to register), non-running, clean CA title (never ordered).

Yeah I seen it. I stay away from autos tho because they're not really fun to drive and they're pretty hard to sell. The cars I see sit on marketplace and all that are always autos.

My worst mistake ever was buying this 2V mustang. This car is the definition of a lemon. Lol
At least the car isn’t going to be a total pos when they buy it from me. So far I’ve replaced all struts/shocks, spark plugs, wires, valve cover gaskets, air filter, oil change, some smog shit, a couple cracked vacuum/smog hoses. Finally now it’s ready to pass smog and I parked it right now and the Fucken POS is straight pissing from the radiator.

Never buy cars that have been wrenched on by people with no knowledge or respect. Is the coolant brown? Replacement radiators that don't have plastic side tanks are better quality.

Yeah the coolant was brown as shit. I drained it and poured 2 gallons of distilled water to somewhat clean it out it and cleaned the reservoir quite a bit. I got lucky and found a brand new radiator in the box on offer up for $60 so I bought it added all new 50/50 and it looks ok right now but me personally I’m done driving this car she gotta go.

Anyone know how to get my monitors ready for smog? I’ve been following the YouTube videos but these 3 damn monitors don’t change for shit. I have 0 codes and 0 pending but my HCAT, EVAP and AIR monitors won’t set to ready. It’s really frustrating me to the point where I might pay to pass it but that’s a few hundred bucks I could save because this car is bone stock so it should pass. Normally I wouldn’t care about just cruising the car to reset the monitors but it’s not really a relaxing ride when I’m worried about cops since I’m riding with no plates at all. Lol

Before using distilled water to flush the cooling system you should stick in a garden hose and run it at low pressure until the water flows out clear. It can take over one hour on a dirty cooling system. Wrap a rag around the garden hose until it can be squeezed inside a coolant hose and stay.

She passed smog now. Gonna go pick up my plates at the dmv on Monday morning. Does anyone know how long it takes to get a title in the mail? I never really paid attention how long it took in the past.

Just drove the damn car without following the damn steps on YouTube. I honestly pissed off a lot of drivers on the freeway driving 55 for MILES. I took it to my uncles house in Modesto and drove it back and when I parked it I decided to look at the monitors and they were all ready except evap but in California you can have any 1 not ready for my year so I took it.

Who’s running panhard bars on their foxes? I’m looking to finally put one in my hatch since I guess $350 was too much back in the days for me. Anyways, I noticed that on the MM site they suggest to run stock upper control arms? I’m sure they know what they’re talking about or I’m misunderstanding but I kinda don’t wanna invest $1,000 on lowers and panhard bar and have some gay ass stock uppers. Lol

Well I don’t plan on getting a torque arm but damn I didn’t wanna hear the no uppers. Many years ago I ripped my torque boxes off my car on 7th street and well I replaced it with the wild rides replacements and that was quite some money.

I got an OfferUp/Facebook market problem. I just came up on a set of 17x9 17x10.5 black with polished lip bullitts for $100 the tires seen better days but fuck this was a deal on some wheels I kinda always wanted for some weird reason.

I didn’t replace the lowers. I reinforced the lowers and completely replaced the uppers. The uppers were done by a guy named Lupe at Meineke in Redwood City. It was like 10+ years ago I think

The lower boxes are reinforced and there haven't been any issues. The car (before me) has raced on tracks all across the country.
