Just wondering your guy's thoughts on this never ending Bull Market. How many of you are a high % in cash expecting a correction? I personally feel like it could come at anytime......
What are you guys investing in at the moment?
Anyone caught up in shorting VIX contracts?
Anyone here long on VIX futures? ( UVXY,TVIX,XIV..)

I always wanted to dabble in the stock market. However, I personally believe it's a job in itself. I'm all about maxing out my 401k and IRA and trying to get 7% rate of return.

I bought some UVXY today @ 9.88
Justing trying to hold out for a correction to sell my shares for top dollar. Sold off about 15k in my S&P 500 mutual fund today.... These prices and company earnings can't keep this bubble from bursting much longer. I feel bad for those that haven't experienced a big correction. Might be like the .com or 08 housing bubble. Know Idea what the Black Swan is gonna end up being this time around. Maybe shit will really go down with North Korea

Slow, you feel it to? Bubble is almost touching that safety pin. I always wonder every morning I wake up, how much longer will this last for. Seems like there is a million people in a square mile now a days every where you go. Economy has been up for awhile now. When it will come down?

Bro I almost shit when I saw TVIX and UVXY down even more today. Might buy some more depending on Monday. I know someone holding 6 lots of 700 shares of TVIX...... If the market drops he's about to make a Million LOL.
I believe a split is scheduled for some of these funds...... Cause there's no fear in the market. People have been making so much shorting these funds that people think it will never end. I jear of people buying stupid amounts on margin cause they really think it's never gonna end.
Gonna be a BIG wake up call for all the perma bulls out there.

Is this a legitimate bubble? I don't think anyone here will truly benefit either way. Maybe some crumbs here or there from the plates of the fat cat bankers. There is a different kind of justice, a different set of rules for the rich and powerful than there is for everyone on this forum; you.
'If you look at the last decade in the United States, what you'll find is this extreme systemic leniency, really impunity for the most powerful people in this society at the same time you have complete, harsh and brutal punishment for those of us that are marginalized and powerless.
The most powerful factions in our society, the political and financial factions, have committed literally the most egregious crimes that exist. In the case of Wall Street, precipitating a world wide financial collapse that destroyed the economic security for literally billions of people based upon systemic fraud. Not a single one of those people responsible for any of those massive crimes have been held accountable in any way or any kind. (Banks have foreclosed on the homes of more than 10 millions Americans since 2007) (Nearly 9 millions Americans lost their jobs from the recession) In fact, these people have been aggressively protected by the very institutions that are charged with enforcing the law, beginning with the justice department and on down. (Elite bankers prosecuted for fraud: ZERO!)
By contrast, at the very same time you have a massive prison state. By far the largest in the world, in terms of number of prisoners and proportionality. (The United States has over 2.2 million people behind bars, the most in the world) Ordinary citizens, people who are powerless and marginalized, are imprisoned for longer periods of time, with less forgiveness, for more trivial transgressions than almost any country in the world. Certainly more than any country in the West. (Clarence Aaron: 3 consecutive life sentences for driving a car for drug dealers. It was his 1st offense) (Timothy Tyler: Life sentence for selling LSD to a police informant) (Stephanie George: Life sentence for having her boyfriend's lock-box of cocaine in her attic.) It's really the antithesis of what the rule of law was intended to preserve, which was we're all accountable by the same rules, regardless of our power, position or prestige. And that's what I mean by the two tiered justice system.'

Holding my UVXY that I had before the reverse split. Bought 3k worth of TVIX a week ago @17.76. Gone down even more. I believe it's around 15.80ish now....... Holding off until I hear more news. If it goes down more. I might buy another 5k worth and see what happens. I know this bull market is on it's last leg. A lot of people are gonna loose a ton of money when it does. I even heard Glenn Beck yesterday saying HE pulled his money out of Bonds, Stocks and is 100% cash.... Waiting for an entry point back into the market after a correction.

Feds are doing everthing they can to keep this Bull Market alive. This 4th quarter is going to be interesting. Still betting on a correction at anytime now.

I agree with your analysis SLOWBACK 67. If a correction is to happen, it has to happen soon. So the country and be on the path to recovery in time for the next presidential election. You can't keep printing fake money forever and transfer it to China so they can ship you real goods.

The big money that hayes Trump and works with Rinos and Dems are going to tank the market, then Trump will get the blame. I do believe the media is loosing their battle at bashing Trump. I am very thankfull he won and not Hillary. Supreme Court could've gone so far left...... They might have tried to really strip away at our rights. Even more than the State/Feds already have.

Investors are being tested. Media is fanning the flames and people who don't normally screw with their portfolios are probably making moves instead of holding steady and changing their buys to more stable stocks.

Do you believe VIX is the same as risk? If you do, then more risk resulting in more reward should be expected.
Crypto currencies have tumbled. Bitcoin is dated old technology compared to other currencies that have come out. If you want high risk high reward, invest in crypto currencies but not dated and government surveyed bitcoin.

I have bought and sold a lot lately. Still holding some UVXY,TVIX for a correction.
Holding RGR & AOBC from back in Feb when they tanked in price. Plan on holding yhese at least till next Feb to avoid higher capital gains taxes.
I bought some American Steel stock. In the event we do go forward with American projects that require a lot of steel. So far that one is in the red.... Holding for a few years to see what happens.
I still feel like a correction could happen before mid terms. We will see. It can't keep going up without aome kind of correction.
Just my .02
Posted by Martinna (Member # 12493) on

That was good forward thinking with buying USA steel. The success of American steel depends on tariffs. Tariffs often provide short term benefits that aren't worth the long term negatives.

Friendly stock market info of the day. I loaded up on some PG&E stock.( ticker PCG )
Investors are freaking out about them being blamed for the fire. Ca isn't going to allow a utility company to go under IMHO. Stock was trading around 50 bucks a week ago and I picked some up for about 24 bucks a share. Mind you prior to the San Bruno fire, PG&E paid a very nice div... I'm banking on the price to go back up in about a year and holding for a few yers to reinvest those dividends down the road.
Just thought I'd throw that out there to anyone on the fence about buying some utility stock during the panic.
Still buying and selling vix stuff and doing okay with it. Waiting to see if the market tanks hard and going long on some SVXY when it gets cheap again. I held some of that after the feb meltdown of the XIV & SVXY eft/etns.

Honestly I only use Vanguard for retirement and brokerage accounts at this time. Thinking aboit opening up one with a dedicated trading platform. Vanguard is better for long term investments. There fee for stocks and etf is 7.00 per trade. So when I do buy. I buy a decent amount. I am not ready to trade options on margin yet. So I don't fool around with that stuff.
